I think a good solution to the current problems of muslims killing christains in Nigeria, is making two seperate countries. The mainly Muslim north can be one country, and the mainly Christian south can be another. That way nigeria can stop, hopefully, killing Christians simply because they are in the same Country.
Why not offer serious political solutions and stop jerking around? First of all, people on both sides, muslims and christains, aren't having the oppurtunity to do what they want. They are being killed and opressed. It's quite obvious someone has to step in. They aren't doing what they want to do. They are doing what they're being forced to do.
No it isn't actually! It's none of our business and it's none of your business. What kind of arrogant elitist would try and tell people what to do and try to fix problems in countries thousands of miles away from their own? It's attitudes like that why so much killing, war and hatred of the west exists. The Nigerians are big boys. They can fix their own problems. We're not God and despite thinking we're the police of the world, we have no right to interfere in other peoples affairs.
You know, homosexuality has never been accepted by the native peoples of Africa. They actually consider it unAfrican to be gay and it's illegal over large parts of Africa. How would you feel if Nigerians suddenly said "hmmm, you know they're thinking about legalizing gay marriage over in America. Something needs to be done about that. I know, we'll go over there and 'step in.' We'll fix that PROBLEM."? Then they'll send over armies disguised as world police organizations and implement what THEY believe onto you and the rest of us. What you're suggesting is no different. They have their beliefs and ways and if they want to change things I'm sure they can with time. We should be concerned with fixing the mountains of problems under our own roof. You need to study what Ron Paul says. Till this day I haven't heard one President of the numerous 3rd world countries we invade and poke our noses into actually ask for our help in dealing with problems within their own borders. Concentrate on your own issues and leave others alone.
You know not everyone has the same isolationism thinking like you, and your dear friend Ron Paul. Ya so what if the LEADERS don't ask for help. The people do. It's a job as a human being to help ensure human rights to people around the globe, not just inside your political borders. Now I understand not everyone, and you especially, don't think like that. But if we should mind our buisness and focus only on America, why are you on this thread? Go talk in the election forums, and talk about how great ron paul is. It's people like you that say they don't care about other peoples buisiness, then get involved anytime someone pisses them off, that are the reason this country is in it's current condition. Because people like you have to oppose anything that doesn't just help YOU.
Well, they should. It's the only way that's righteous, pro-peace and makes sense. The people elected the leader. It's his job to look after his people. The President of a country is absolute. No outsiders have the right to override is authority in his own country! You sound like you too that right out of the Marxist handbook. It's a human beings job not to play God and meddle in other peoples affairs. Elitists make me feel physically ill. I speak up about what's wrong and your philosophy is clearly WRONG. I don't need to. There's enough people doing that already. Haven't you been paying attention? Ron Paul is like a God to most non-brainwashed and non-zionist Americans. I don't get involved in anyones business. It's not my right. I believe in taking care of my own house and minding my own business. Obviously being prepared should any trouble come my way. You don't start trouble, you won't get trouble in return. And people like YOU are the ones starting trouble. Do you have any idea what people in smaller countries think about people like you who play world police and try to implement YOUR beliefs on others? YOU think there's a problem in Nigeria, so YOU have to sort it out. No actually... that's exactly why we're involved in so many costly wars currently.
You do obviously get involved in other peoples matters/affairs. And ron paul must have brainwashed you considering he's in 3rd place in the polls. But nevermind that. My philosphy is not wrong, just diffrent then yours. And believe me there's a lot more people who say yours is WRONG, more then mine. It's not so much a philosophy, it's called not being selfish. And presidents can be corrupt, and not all leaders are president. But you wouldn't know that because your so isolated.
The part I highlighted in blue may or may not be true. The part I highlighted in red is most certainly NOT true. Most people are not warmongering interferers. Most people oppose war and world police type behavior. You're warped if you think most people think like you. Playing world police costs tax payers billions as well as the moral issues surrounding such elitist behavior.
You keep calling me an elitist, and I would like to state that I am not. And i'm not into warmongering, just helping human beings. The fact that you think I think that way is insulting. And how is helping other helpless human beings from corrupt governments provide MORAL issues? Being selfish and staying back and hiding inside our so called, "borders," provides moral issues. You my friend, are the one with the warped thinking.
I'm sorry if I've insulted you. This is just the way I see it. It's elitist behavior to see what's going on in a country a million miles away from you, determine that it is wrong (which it is, in our culture) and then decide to stroll into their land and shake things up a bit. It's none of our business and I promise you you'll win no favors from foreign observers by doing so. You cannot play God. You're not God. You have to leave Nigeria to sort out their own problems... especially if their President isn't asking for our help. Corrupt or not, the President of another nation is absolute. The culture in Africa is vastly different to our culture. Like I asked you before, how would you like it if Nigerian armies strolled into the U.S. and told us gay marriage is wrong according to the holy book and we're going to make you see it as illegal under the law like we do in Africa? You'd be outraged and you know it. But to most Africans gay marriage is every bit as evil as the killings going on in Nigeria. The Nigerian government can take care of their own issues.
Amen , but be logical how its possible? like this http://www.politicalforum.com/lates...-any-solution-out-there-4.html#post1060812508 ?
Well, it's not your country to propose anything... especially dividing it into two. If their President wants to do that then so be it. It's none of your business. Why don't you concentrate on our own issues like border control, the economy and the crime epidemic?
If you want to cut up Nigeria into 2 countries, then what will you do with the middle belt tribes that have both christian and muslim clans in them? Nigeria has already had an American style civil war between its northern states and southern states, and the result of that civil war was a stronger unification of Nigeria. Nigeria is an artificial nation, just like the ones in East Europe. And just like in East Europe, it is the ticket of the "nation state" philosophy that puts Nigeria into this renewed modern killing spree.
I find some moral arguments against interventionism lacking. Sometimes these governments are illegitimate, both by ours and by theirs standard, kept in place only by oppression. Then I fail to see how it is wrong to interfere, it is not like they chose it anyway. Second, if there were human rights abuses in my country (irregardless whether by legitimate government or not), I would support foreign occupation assuming it would help to solve the issue. So even based on golden law logic, interventionism could be justified for me. Third, there is no objective reason why intervention among property borders, town borders, district, state or plenty of other borders is considered justified, but among national borders it magically is not. All of these are similarly just lines in the ground. I myself tend to not support foreign interventions, but I surely dont act as if I have some higher moral ground. My stance is based on economic and PR reasons.
I don't see how that is a solution. It forced a large scale of forced population exchange and migration between those 2 countries. Forcing people out of their homes, schools, and businesses is a crime, even if it is perpetrated by governments under international "agreements".
I must say, that following your logic, the most likely future will be that Nigeria will be broken up into at least 2 new countries. One of these 2 countries will inevitably have some population of the other within its borders, to be called a new minority. Then, money will be made by exciting conflicts at the expense of that new minority. This will be a very profitable financial exploitation of the "solution".
