John Ehrlichman says war on drugs to suppress the antiwar left and black people.

It seems if you treat people like criminals long enough, they're going to begin acting like criminals.

News couldn't have been timed worse for Richard Nixon. Who genuinely only had Watergate scarring his presidency. Knowing this now, takes him down a few notches(actually, several notches) as President. It means he actively conspired to suppress the freedom of American citizens. It means he's right there with GWB among our worst Presidents.

And when one tries to explain how government has been used to attack groups of people, you get all sorts of denialism.

Most critically thinking people know the War on Drugs is a full on farce. Time to end it.

It proves we have not had a leader in long long time. We only have powermongers in control.

Nixon and his administration was a terrible time for this country, and sadly his lying ways are still effecting people to this day. I.E the war on drugs.

Nixon was a pretty smart President.

Nixon targeted hippies and afro-Americans with pot and chieva while Obama targets guns in Americans hands while supplying guns to the drug cartels in Mexico and Al Qaeda and ISIS in the Middle East.

True. Unfortunately, history shows what they do to true leaders. These people probably won't end the war on drugs until it became less profitable for them. The whole thing is grimy.

right now the government is attacking smokers by mandating carpet glue be added to all cigeretes sold, hard to believe the government could get away with such things in this day and age

Got sick watching Nancy Reagan starting the "just say no " campaign. All the while Ronnie is importing Panamanian processed Coke to the US as his CIA is unleashing crack all across America.

There are not enough trees in DC for all the treasonous hangings that need to take place.

There was a pubic crab epidemic back during the counter culture movement era that was traced back to the hippies and all of the free love that was going on.

Also in the black neighborhoods the prostitutes were complaining that all of the free love was hurting their businesses on the streets.

Next thing you know, the government will mandate putting dihydrogen monoxide in our drinking water. :omfg:

Actually, cigarette manufacturers were using ethylene vinyl acetate (AKA carpet glue) long before government rules for fire safe cigarettes, and nothing in the FSC regulations require ethylene vinyl acetate.

Yep, now all we got to do is find out who invented the war on poverty. Taking those both out would probably go a long way.

Let me put this so you can understand. The government does NOT mandate carpet glue in cigarettes. The laws only set standards for how flammable cigarettes can be. The cigarette manufacturers CHOOSE to use the same material that they have been using to seal cigarettes for years. If consumers don't want to smoke carpet glue, they they shouldn't smoke.

let me explain this so you can understand it.... the government mandated this, prior top the mandate no cigarette company was required to do it

the cigarette companies did not want to do this as it is harmful to their customers, anti-smokers are trying to kill smokers, simple as that

anti-smokers are jerks...... if people want to smoke cigarettes without carpet glue they should be able too

Since cigarette companies can manufacture fire-safe cigarettes without ethylene vinyl acetate, who exactly is mandating this? The only thing cigarette companies are trying to protect is their bottom line. And since ethylene vinyl acetate doesn't significantly increase the toxicity of cigarettes, who is trying to kill smokers beside themselves?

a real link please, if they could they would... they can't so they do not

"MYTH: Fire-safe cigarettes are more toxic.
FACT: There is no evidence that reduced ignition propensity cigarettes are any more harmful to health. A report by RJ Reynolds conducted in 1993 compared the tar per cigarette in prototype low-ignition propensity cigarettes. The report concludes: "Ames assay results were not higher for the prototype cigarettes than their respective controls, either on a revertant-per-mg-tar basis or a revertant-per-cigarette basis.""

sorry, just testing if there is more tar is not a real test

people should not be forced to buy or sell FSC cigarettes... period... I am pro-Choice.... let the consumers decide

Besides admitting that Nixon and his cabal of political thugs lied to gain power over his "enemies" and telling us how much you admire them for it, what do your last two posts have to do with this topic at all? And please stop being so bitter at the Hippie girls who still wouldn't let you in on all that free love.
