http://www.post-gazette.com/local/w...nville-ohio-suspect-dead/stories/201708210099 "A judge was ambushed and shot Monday morning as he walked toward the Jefferson County Courthouse, and both the judge and a probation officer returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect, officials said. A passenger in the suspect’s car has been questioned by police. Steubenville City Manager James Mavromatis said that Judge Joseph J. Bruzzese Jr. was shot as he walked just outside the courthouse shortly after 8 a.m. The judge was armed and returned fire, firing at least five shots, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla. A probation officer fired an unknown number of shots. And the suspect fired five shots."
This is the town I was born and raised in, and I know Judge Bruzzese personally. It was once an industrial powerhouse but has since fallen to crime as both steel mills in the immediate area have been crushed by foreign steel. This is just terrible. I'm glad he was armed, and carrying today.
Which reminds me ... You could live out your whole life and never need a gun. But if ever you need a gun, you will need it very badly.
I just found out that the shooter here is the father of the teenager involved in the rape case a few years back involving Steubenville Big Red football players.
I just got off the phone with some family members of mine that still live in the area. They didn't think he was seriously wounded. I'm pretty sure it was just a minor flesh wound. This speaks to training for the CCW holder. To be able to return fire, wounded, at a moving target and still hit what you are shooting at is impressive. The judge clearly practices frequently to keep up his skills.
Well I haven't spoken to the judge in about 12 years, not since I lived there. But I can reasonably infer. Either that, or he was ridiculously lucky.
"Not a high water mark for our electrical systems; but nevertheless a glowing testament to our Constitutional Right to Bear Arms!" "Martha?" "Martha." "Put the gun away now."
Electrical systems ? Perhaps you meant Electoral systems ? I am an Elocutionist, My Loquacious freind. Elocutionist | Define Elocutionist at Dictionary.com Dictionary.com › browse › elocutionist a person's manner of speaking or reading aloud in public: The actor's elocution.
It's actually a line from a tv show. Uttered just after the power went out in a court room. He actually was talking about the electrical system.
No, not small. Subtle. Subtlety is a fine art, and one that is being lost. I appreciate it when I see it.... even if it has to be pointed out to me for me to catch it!
