    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/0...ns-to-reduce-south-korea-government-to-ashes/

What do you think? Is there real danger of another conflict in Korea? Even if this is only NK blowing smoke they did kill four people the last time they threatened the south. Tomorrow is the 80th anniversary of the NK army being formed, maybe that is the day they will carry out there threats against the media and government of the south.

A tricky situation. Ultimately I would like to see no Western involvement in the East. But those communist governments were pretty abhorrent. Ultimately we should respect the wishes of the South Korean people, if they want Western forces in the South as a defensive measure. It seems they do.

What Jim Jong Jung the twentieth needs is a tall , sexy woman with an American mind set who feeds the little fat kid lots and lots of fast food .
My latest theory is that very fat kids , worn out by too much sex , make pathetic enemies .

I find that there is always some hothead blowing smoke. This is why it is so good to see China is on board. That makes for a rather poor tactical situation should NK do anything stupid. Hopefully they realize they would just be committing suicide if they don't have a big friend to have their back, and I think NK does still possess the urge for self preservation.

Again the hypocrisy of us and other nuclear armed, non-inspected countries trying to force our will on others does (IMO) undercut any moral high ground we may have hoped to occupy on the issue however...

Are we talking about the same news? That news, that NK announced to reduce the SK government to ashes?

BTW: A rocket launch is a far greater achievement for the people as a uniquely delivery of food, which will not be delivered in any case.

The only reason China is standing behind Japan and South Korea is to keep the US out of it. If it came down to it, you better believe China would support N.Korea in any war against S.Korea even if it meant only material and economic support, just as they did during the Korean war until S.Korea and the US was kicking N.Korea's butt and came to close to the Chinese / Korean border. Japan would do nothing if S.Korea was invaded. They might write a strongly worded letter to the UN and send ships and troops to protect itself from any attacks from N.Korea and to protect its own shipping lanes.. Japan is very isolationist and it is not only due to their constitution that was basically created by the US after WW2, but also because they are truly isolationists.

We could always send a few Ukrainian nurses his way. It seemed to mellow out Gaddafi (until we removed him, of course).

The new North Korean leadership is quite moderate compared with the predecessor which was a part of the Axis of Evil and those military threats can be dismissed as a patriotic gesture to raise the spirit of the people in North Korea and there is no possibility that North Korea actually initiates a conflict with its southern neighbour without China or Russia's green light as was the case with the Korean War in which Mao and Stalin played the major part in goading North Korea into invading South Korea. South Korea should take a pacifist approach to mend fences with its northern neighbour rather than resorting to a massive military buildup which it's currently engaging in under the wrong leadership which is keen on escalating tensions in the region to score cheap political points ahead of elections.

Am I the only guy around here to see how NK is in a perfect position to become the (non-nuclear) toxic wasteground dump of the world?

Everybody in Asia know that the top leaders of NK send their kids to schools in Taiwan, etc.

All you have to do is tell dumb-nut-f*ck-face-the-current-prince he can make a fortune burrying toxic waste in cold, lonely useless North Korean hills, and the next thing you know western media will be having a hay-day writing stories about western exploitation of dictators.

The NKs are ruled by an undeserving heir to a Stalinist personality cult whose economy is worse than fecal matter and whose only bright spot is a huge military which is quite impressive (if not QUITE up to date) and a few nukes. The temptation to solve their problems by dissolving the truce (the two Koreas never actually signed a peace agreement) and conquering the much richer South Korea and fulfilling the dreams of their fathers must be considerable. That strong military is not going to become anything but weaker compared to their potential opponents, and the need for some "stand-down" time for much of the US military (recovery from over-extension in Iraq and Afghanistan) won't last for more than a few years.
