And now, for something completely different, (than the middle east)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------
A thorough and revealing joint piece written in partnership between the NYT, Pro Publica and the Guardian:

US and UK spy agencies defeat privacy and security on the internet

This quote is a small breakdown of what the Guardian and the NYTimes (article linked within the quote) have revealed and shouldn't be taken as a comprehensive synopsis.

Everyone who uses the internet should read the full articles (THAT MEANS YOU!)

Go ahead, take a break from the manufactured distractions that've been so prevalent recently in the media and discussion forums like this, and digest some more outrageous police state shenanigans being perpetrated by the country that claims to be "The Land Of The Free" and its allies while lying to you about how quickly the noose is tightening and the motivations for tying it in the first place. They're truly turning the internet into the world wide web:

It isn't really a different matter . This unacceptable behaviour on the part of our own governments and their agencies is stimulated by the Culture Wars which the West has started in its blind support for its all-time major geopolitical gaff....Israel. It seems to me that anybody who objects to this slavery which the ' security ' agencies intend to inflict upon us all needs to identify how best to fight back. In my opinion the best way to focus- the best way to concentrate resources and change the course of our corrupt governments and their agencies is to defeat the forces of Zionism - in all its forms- which exist within our respective societies. Making this information public is a challenge to those forces and an announcement that they are not going to get things all their own way. However, even those media outlets which want to defend our liberties have admitted, in this article, that they have been forced to redact information before publishing . That's not a good sign.

Is the term ' forces of Zionism ' just some conspiratorial nonsense intended as a swipe at jews ? No, it isn't. Zionism is not the preserve of jews at all . There are many people with a vested interest in the geopolitical success of Zionism and their numbers dwarf those of the jews involved. This isn't about any narrow sectarian issue, although Zionists and their supporters depend upon that aspect for their propaganda. It's grown far, far beyond any such minor concerns to become a full-blown war between the military-industrial complex and ourselves, the world's ordinary citizenry. If you look around at the chaos which exists in the Middle East - and to some extent the battlefields of Africa- you'll see that our enemies are winning. Having them granted unrestricted access to everything you write or say is just another aspect of their assault on the concepts of liberty and free speech.

Of course, that doesn't mean that the disastrous implementation of the doctrine of Zionism is responsible for all of the worlds woes. I'm simply stating that defeating it should be a focal point for our counter-attack . Otherwise we'll all firing blindly and every which-way into the night. When justice in the Middle East is seen to be done then the agents of the surveillance industries which threaten us now will lose much of their support and traction.

Those who want to strip you of your privacy and self-respect would like your assistance in imprisoning its opposition.

Should the gov't. have the ability to track terrorists and drug dealers?...

Why Government, Tech Can't Agree About Encryption
November 24, 2015 — Your phone is getting better and better at protecting your privacy. But Uncle Sam isn't totally comfortable with that, because it's also complicating the work of tracking criminals and potential national-security threats.

I don't get why this is allowed by the public. I could see some people being blackmailed by the government in the future.

Which is where open source software comes into play. You can bribe businesses to put back doors into their encryption software, but open source means that the code can be read by all. If there is a back door, it will be as obvious as a moose taking a dump on your front lawn.

Justice Department still needs Apple's help unlocking Brooklyn iPhone

Remember a sort time ago the FBI taking Apple to court to force them to unlock one of their phones, then the FBI laughed and said "Don't bother, we cracked it"?
Seems like they are not as good as they try and make us believe.

The worrying thing is the dealer had plead guilty, so there is no need to go into the phone, but the FBI still want the backdoor for all phones opened. :steamed:

This is correct. The FBI will bring this case up in all 50 States. They will find a sym(pathetic) judge somewhere. And Apple will go bankrupt trying to fight all the duplicate suits. The FBI has the time , the money and the judges in pocket. Apple will get (*)(*)(*)(*)ed out of existence for its resistance to King Obama and Big Brother.
