My goodness, that's sad. Of course, it could be a misperception. But give your parents a call and take care of them till the end. Honor thy father and mother is commandment and we will be judged by it.
There is a documented story of a Catholic who had fallen from the faith and was on his death bed. A priest visited to give him the Last Rites. Shockingly, man spit on him. Shortly later Jesus appeared to the dying man in a vision and said, "Are you going to spit on me too?" The man converted and shortly lated died, presumably in the state of grace.
I was thinking about inventing a set of twin children so people spend the whole funeral waiting for them to show up out of the blue LOL. No kidding though I had a relative by marriage tell their spouse they were about to die and then dropped dead 30 seconds later ( not in the hospital). I guess they felt something going on with their heart right before it stopped. IDK.
Dr. Kenneth Ring and Dr. Maurice Rawlings have suggested that if somebody has a negative near death experience they tend to suppress the specific memories somehow..... due to those memories being so scary and traumatic. Dr. Maurice Rawlings dramatically changed the way that he approached life after hearing what this dying man requested of him. I read one of his books back during the 1990's. Dr. Rawlings impressed me as being totally sincere in his new mission in life.
