I agree with this opinion over what the federal judge ruled and I also believe this opens a door to lots of lawsuits for minorities failing tests nation wide. Are they going to sue the makers of IQ tests as well? How far will this go? Why should tests be made around race anyway?

 

Just because whites usually perform better on the test than blacks does not mean that the test discriminates against blacks because they are black. It means that blacks tend to perform less well because of characteristics that correlate with being black. Blacks tend to be less intelligent than whites. They tend to be less knowledgeable.

The burden of proof should be on anyone who claims that the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test discriminates against blacks on the basis of criteria that are irrelevant to being a good teacher.

 

It’s not because they are not capable it’s because of their culture. That however is not an excuse to do what they are doing.

 

They've taken over the courts and are just using those positions as an excuse to throw out free candy.

Appealing to the immature and child-like nature of the mob.

Apparently these rich super-progressive areas have plenty of money available to throw out, excessively and for the stupidest reasons. And the voters in these areas seem to love it, see it as just yet one more form of "wealth redistribution" away from "the rich", even though they've turned the court system into a giant lottery payout game. (I guess "equality of opportunity" for all the common little people?)

I keep wondering why none of these judges get fired or reprimanded, but then you have to remember who is running these areas.

It's only going to get worse of course. Next on their list is to start packing the higher level appeals court with "diverse" hires. (Which by itself I wouldn't have a problem with, but we already know what's going to happen there, by looking at what's already happened)

I suspect none of this is going to end until they run out of money. The very wealthy have slowly been leaving New York.

Genes determine culture. Most Jews and East Asians are studious and law abiding, even when they are poor.

 

I think genes and culture are a two-way street. (Yes, culture can have a big effect on the gene pool selection over several successive generations)
Genes play a powerful role in shaping culture, but then that culture can also rub off on other individuals surrounded by that culture who do not have those genes.

 

You know the history of the Dunbar school? Blacks can be very intelligent when they apply themselves for that goal. Another example is Thomas Sowell, in my opinion one the most intelligent people in modern times. If it was genetic, no black person could have achieved their feet.

 

I’d be interested in seeing the test. If you are taking an exam to be a teacher, physician, attorney, how can it be biased towards a specific group? Wouldn’t the questions be central to the profession? If there are sections that require some level of critical thinking, such as essays, wouldn’t that be a skill needed to have gotten to the point of taking the exam in the first place?

 

Some blacks are brilliant, but the percentage of brilliant blacks is much less than the percentage of brilliant whites.

 

Of course the "inconvenient truth" is that none of the Asians (Korean, Chinese, more Chinese ethnicity Vietnamese, with recent immigrant ancestry) seem to have trouble adapting to the culture.

 

That is because east Asians have higher IQ averages than Negroes. We are not supposed to say that, however. We are supposed to blame black problems on white racism.

 

I think it might have a little more to do with self control, mental discipline and concentration than IQ. (which is kind of a subtle but significant distinction)

 

IQ, determined genetically, is the most important factor, followed by "self control, mental discipline, and concentration." Those three additional factors correlate strongly with high IQ power.
