Libertarians do not have an appropriate showing because both sides are scared of "throwing their vote away" more than voting their principals. The Libertarians don't get the vote numbers for the same reason why we see so much ignorance here. The big parties depend on very low information and very big campaigns. A majority of voters know very little about any candidate but what they've seen in paid commercials.
It's the people who actually do make it a point to learn and know about what's happening in their world who constitute that small number who vote Libertarian. Same representative block who actually do enough reading to understand what the Oathkeepers represent, and why we're glad to have them.

Approximately 94 million people didn't even vote in 2012, which is more votes than either Obama or Romney received. It makes sense that they would stay home rather than vote because of how anti-libertarian the two parties are.
