President Obama cancelled funding for clean diesel and hydrogen to fund battery vehicles.

To me, this was a very stupid move. Battery vehicles have a very limited driving range and a limited buying group. Hydrogen will be the fuel of the future and the technology is ready. Only thing needed to put it into full production is refueling stations. Automakers won't switch to full production of hydrogen vehicles until refueling stations are put in place, so people can drive anywhere across the country if they wish. Germany and Japan are already on their way to doing just that. Each building 1,000 refueling stations in their own country.

Hydrogen is clean fuel and cheaper than gasoline. It would not only cut down on our import of oil, but clean up our air and help fight global warming. Unlike electric vehicles, millions of Americans would buy hydrogen, because of no limits on how far they could travel. Once more, America is behind the times.

We could build refueling stations using stimulus money that would create jobs and then sell them to private enterprise and get our money back. That would also stimulate the auto business. I think Obama is totally wrong here cutting out the funding for clean diesel and hydrogen.
