Republican Wyoming is next on the ACA SUCCESS list:

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/wyoming-medicaid-expansion-options

Wyoming looks like it might be the latest Republican-run state to come around on Obamacare's Medicaid expansion.

The Associated Press reported this week that Gov. Matt Mead (R) and the state's top health official had met with federal officials to discuss a possible deal to expand the low-income insurance program under the law. Mead will present the options early next year the state legislature, which has thus far rejected the expansion, according to the AP.

The news agency did not report any details of what a possible deal between Wyoming and the Obama administration might look like. But the administration has already shown some willingness to meet GOP officials halfway to get them to participate in the Medicaid expansion, a key piece of Obamacare.

Mead acknowledged that the state is sending tax dollars out of state to pay for other states that have expanded Medicaid while receiving nothing in return.

"I juxtapose that against our hospital association saying we're handing out $200 million every year just in Wyoming," he said. "I contrast it with whatever that running total is now, I think it's about $60 million for this year, that Wyoming, if we were in Medicaid, we would have received."

More than low-income 17,000 Wyomingites would be covered by the law's Medicaid expansion.

Another red state to go patriotic and save many lives with ACA! :flagus:

Another American voice govt lovers refuse to hear...

    Angela Kay-*****
So...why can't people pay cash to their MDs? I have been paying cash to my MDs since 2007 and it has worked out great....a $250 office visit is only $50 if you are a cash pay patient...HUGE discounts to the patients when the MD office does not have to deal with insurance BS. Also, MDs give their cash pay patients MORE time. I usually see my MD for an hour, twice for 4 hrs straight! It was $500 but I got 7 blood tests done and my MD educated me enormously on treatments, my options, lifestyle changes. I will never go back to an insurance taking MD. I do the same with dental, $20 cleaning, my dentist usually charges $150 per cleaning. Learn how to barter and advocate for yourself and you can get almost anything. Also, in hospitals, you can get a $18,000 surgery for $3500 if you pay in cash. My mother did this, paid in advance, so you really only need catastrophic insurance, really.

Not losing any debate yet since you refuse to post any facts to support your position. More whining sites and made up,stories are not facts. Anybody can find citizens to post stories both for and against the ACA.

Another wonderful made up story. Post them all you want, they are good for a laugh. You have obviously never actually negotiated with a hospital or a doctor because if you had you would recognize this for the work of fiction it is.

By the way! I negotiated medical expenses for five years because I am one of those who could not get insurance at any price.

So which is it. Either the poster has an employer or he doesn't. And I am pretty sure that if his wife was cheating on her taxes the ACA didn't call the IRS. If this poster is as poor as he says he should be greatful for the ACA because he will finally get real insurance at no cost.

You know this is total BS when the poster claims her doctor will work for fifty dollars an hour.

But he was wrong to go with the fascist/socialist/Progressive/liberal/Marxist/crony capitalist solution instead of the free market. Reform ought to mean getting the government completely out of the health care business.

It is unconstitutional. The five justices who voted for it are traitors to the Constitution they swore to uphold and protect. I wish them all the worst that life can give them.

So please extrapolate to where you see for health care in America in say ten years if the government becomes totally uninvolved. I assume you include all regulation of hospitals, doctors, drug companies, insurance companies, etc. Also would guess that Medicare and Medicade disappear. All licensing of doctors disappears as well as restrictions on drug imports. A total wide open free market. Should be interesting to see what you project as the future.

This is a mix of fascism and socialism. I think of it as totalitarian collectivism.

We can reverse this with an Article V convention of the states. Learn about it and ask your state legislators to support it.

The Harvard study, funded by a federal research grant, was published in the online edition of the American Journal of Public Health. It was released by Physicians for a National Health Program, which favors government-backed or "single-payer" health insurance.
Who could guess that a radical leftist group would be paid with tax dollars to come up with findings to support a radical leftist agenda? Can anyone doubt that tyranny has arrived in America?

It is simple really. There would be a wide variety of options at all price points. People would be responsible for their life's choices. Most of us would be far better off.

I wanted to have a procedure done without all of the waiting...so I asked. For about one hundred dollars I could have done what I wanted. My copay for each appointment is 12 dollars.

Get the government out of the healthcare industry and everyones costs will go down.

Missing something here. If you have a copays then you have insurance so you are not negotiating as far as I can tell.

You have not really specified what you mean by the government getting out of the healthcare industry. I gave you a whole list of places the government is involved. Do you want the gov out of all of those areas or are you just wanting to go back to pre ACA days. Let's get some specific ideas instead of just vague statements.

It is called circular reasoning. If you don't like the data the source must be leftist and if the source of the data is leftist then the data is no good.

So are you in favor of eliminating government involvement in all the areas I mentioned? Or have you just not thought the ramifications of eliminating all government involvement in healthcare. Maybe you really just meant eliminating all government involvement in health insurance I which case maybe you only want to eliminate the ACA, Medicare, and Medicade. Generalized statements are easy but thoughtful ideas are hard.

    Yes. Did I stutter?

It would eliminate a major source of political power for the politicians. It would cause, through competition, the creation of a large variety of goods and services at a wide variety of price points.

Is that why you failed to recognize a thoughtful idea?

I want to end all meddling by the federal government in medicine. And that is just for starters. Let's get the federal government back to just the enumerated powers.

Let's see, radical leftists want the government to control the entire population by controlling their health care. Radical leftists apply for federal tax dollars to create a propaganda report. And other radical leftists, people like the youi and Mr_truth swallow it completely. What other proof is needed?

    Totalitarian tyrants. All of you.

Sentient human beings could piece together all of the evidence I gave. Why were you unable to do so? I did not want to wait on my insurance. Sometimes it takes weeks. So I asked the question how much it would cost if I just paid myself.

So do you believe the cost of your treatment by physicians is cheaper because you pay cash for your doctors visits? Many doctors will give you a discount if you pay cash and I believe this trend will increase as more doctors opt out of low reimbursement insurance plans and Medicaid.

What this will mean is more competitive fees amongst physicians. I doubt however that paying cash will effect what hospitals charge per day. So, it would be beneficial if individuals/families could purchase Hospitalization coverage only when they can afford to pay for physician/clinic medical care and prescription costs out of pocket. Unfortunately, ACA and HHS does not approve this Hospitalization only option. The failure of the PPACA is that is does not allow for individuals/families, small businesses to purchase the insurance coverage that that they or their employees need and that will would be cost effective.

This is why it will end up being a failure, tax burden, cause of deficit and debt increasing. Only those that get "free" health care due to PPACA, which by the way does not include those to far below the poverty line and who don't qualify for their States Medicaid plan; support PPACA.

It seems to me that the people on this forum that support the PPACA either do so because they are "sheeple" liberals, or because they now get free health care, health insurance subsidies or Medicaid. They apparently don't care what happens to the rest of us individuals/families or small businesses that will now be unable to afford coverage. Many of whom that don't qualify for subsidies despite the fact they can't afford the higher premiums. Remember, the Small Business mandate has yet to kick in. As a small business owner X 30+ years, I guarantee that small businesses will be forced to drop health insurance coverage that many of us have offered to our employees paying 100% of their premiums. Those benefiting from welfare programs never think about the cost to those paying for them. Once the private sector opts out and leaves the total cost to taxpayers and the Government, we become a welfare State.

No incentive to work. No incentive to save. No incentive to invest in our U.S. Businesses. Get real people. Do your homework.

Except that you posted your experience as an example of negotiating costs not as a way of expediting a procedure.
