With Republicans in control of Congress and the White House, this is what Obama has done to his party. It's in shambles, and it's entirely his fault. The ACA basically neutered him. He had no political capitol after that. He blew his wad.

The election of Trump is absolutely a mandate to undo Obama's mess.

Michelle can go back to not being proud of her country.

Yet his approval ratings are in the mid-late 50's, close to Reagan levels.

Irrelevant. He's a cult of personality. They like him, but don't like the way he governs. It's an anomaly in politics, but it happens.

It's almost like the Kardashians might actually have to get a real job and earn a living! "OMG!"

This was a truly historic election. :D

I think Trump's win had more to do with Clinton than Obama. Almost all of the results are in, and it appears that Trump actually received less votes than Romney. Both candidates did.

Clinton lost because she failed to garner the Obama coalition the way she should have.

The only good thing that will come out of Republican control of the government is that ACA should be repealed damn fast.

Watch it end up just being "repackaged"

Really, that would be ok too. Some aspects of the ACA were good, like not allowing people to be turned down for pre-existing conditions.

That what will happen, imo. Trump can't afford to cause people to lose their insurance if he wants a second term.

A year ago I may have disagreed with you but having gained a bit more experience and knowledge about how the ACA really operates, it was extremely flawed from the start. Insurance companies are pulling out en mass. It needs to die. I favor 'single-payer' but that's another issue.

Correct. The sooner ObamaCare is repealed the better for Obama's legacy. The battle of Mosul is IMO, Obama's best chance to achieve a lasting legacy.

Americans should be demanding those promised healthcare savings accounts - and demanding that they be expanded until they are huugge.
Ditto the promised school choice vouchers.

Don't bet your health or your life, or your children's education on a "benevolent" bureaucracy. 'Power to the people' is far more reliable.

Ryan says they have a plan and its ready to go, and yes it will cover pre-existing conditions. Also they will get rid of that Medical Device Tax. BO peep wont be able to make any money off that anymore.

Expect the mandate to be killed.....no more free money for the Peep and the Demos there.

People will get to buy insurance over state lines. Create a health savings account too.

And yet, interestingly enough, not all of that same crowd did not have confidence in Hillary.

The across state lines thing is kind of a red herring. Someone with a lot of experience in the insurance industry made a good thread about it a couple years ago.

Basically, it's already legal to sell insurance across state lines and it happens in places like New England. The problem is distance. Insurance companies get their rates be negotiating with hospitals and that becomes difficult to effect the further the distance.

To put it simply, insurance companies just won't do it in many cases.

Yeah D.....as Trump will get rid of the Peeps Iranian Deal. Although, the Peep wont have much of a legacy, other than going down in History as the one that split the country further apart.

He is real good at dividing people up.

We might see the Insurance companies jump on it now tho.....they do need to make up some money. They will also will get rid of BO peeps 15 man panel that were making any decisions. S-Chip will be kept for Children. So the Kids will be alright. (from the WHO album)

Then they need to deal with the Pharma Companies that BO peep was making money off of.

Long distance insurance though is expensive. That's the whole idea of why many companies wouldn't want to do it. It's not going to make them much extra money.

That's too bad. Government is full of people made of the same greed, only with more power to hurt you with it.

The corrupt ruling political class always seeks to divide the American people. They are terrified of the people uniting against them. Obama has been a very skilled divider.

The PPACA really did gut his movement. It isn't even that the thing passed. It is how the whole thing was handled. Instead of reaching out to the GOP on some of the issues like allowing insurance across state lines as a peace offering, Obama had a summit in which he sat there and insulted the republicans in the room and then ordered it passed through reconciliation.

I have to agree- Obama's benchmark legacy, Obamacare, is going to be dismantled as a total failure, destined to be a wrong turn blip in the history books- as well it should.Instead of addressing the reason insurance was unaffordable, which was having the worlds highest medical cost by far- it simply attempted to solve the problem of not being able to afford insurance by force, making people divert money from their basic living needs to pay the outrageous price or be fined. The people didn't benefit from this- but the insurance industry no doubt has, so the people lost again. Our medical cost needed addressing so that our insurance costs would come down and people could afford insurance- but it seems like nobody writing Obamacare gave that a thought. Too logical and simple for politicians who aren't working for the people to understand.

. Many if not all of the executive orders he has used in lieu of passing legislation are going to disappear with a stroke of the new presidential pen, as easily as they were created. History will note him as the first African American president- but not one of meaningful accomplishments.
