Of all my family and friends, and those who I talked on the street with. Obama was voted in specifically because he was black. And that my brothers and sisters, is racist. Nobody knew nothing about him, his history, education, so much about this guy was a mystery. And yet simply because he is black, he was voted in. Chosen specifically because of his race, is "racist". Hypocrites!
Aye - most certainly, him being a mulatto was seen as a challenge to the establishment. In another individual it might has been his youth, or a different reliligion - or even a business rogue (like Trump) but people wanted something new after 8 years of GWB. While I recognize that Obama's "race" played in his favour, I believe he was primarly elected because he could project hope and decency. Another black man could have lost if he wasn't Obama-like enough. PS - It is also possible that your friend and familly are, like 45% of Americans, politically un-interested.
No, those who I am referring to, very much care of who their leaders are, and have for some time now. It was a good thought though. A president should be chosen for his/her accomplishments, contributions to society, leadership, bravery, courage, and since we all have them, even their "wrong doings". Such traits were unknown with Obama. Should not of been chosen simply because of his skin color.
I don't think that Obama, who lived the American dream about being of modest origins and growing up to became the most powerful man in the world, owes it all to the simple fact that he wasn't fully white. Give him some dues.
I will, Obama has got a great way with words, he is a professional liar, and has the ability to deceive many. And he did.
Do you not see, it is your comment here that is racist and divisive? I did not mention one word of the color of his skin. Those who constantly spew "racism" out of their mouths, are the ones who are racist.
