I'll say it again. Few if any serious person Deny that the atmosphere is warming; if nothing else a growing population and social and economic growth in third and second world countries would assure it. Most honest scientists also attribute about 4-8% of the total increase to CO2. Clouds and water vapor are ht prime contributors, as the have been for centuries. And, full disclosure, clouds have a dual action - reflecting some inbound energy back into space as well as trapping energy rebounding off the Earth and redirecting it downward.

The Earth and cooled and warmed many times; our ancestors lived in much warmer and much cooler environs and inhaled air with higher and lower CO2 concentrations than now.

True. Angstrom established more than a century ago that adding CO2 to ordinary sea level atmospheric air does not appreciably alter its infrared absorption properties, a result that can be replicated by any competent physics undergrad with access to a university optics lab. This indisputable empirical fact about the physical properties of CO2 conclusively disproves the CO2 climate narrative.
The climategate emails proved that a handful of scientists are involved in some sort of covert effort to put a thumb on the scale of climate science, but they don't have the money or power to be the original initiators of that effort.

I don't think scientists have much to do with the issue. They just deal with measurements. It is politicians and others seeking power that have everything to do with it. The planet is in a warming trend. No doubt about it. Temperature is the measurement guiding scientists. That it is a crisis or even something beyond trivial is the work of the power seekers.

We have had warming and cooling periods throughout recorded history. They are normal. The current one isn't very serious with only a single degree C warming over the past 100 years. But the power brokers know how to turn it into a crisis. And it feeds their goals which are money and power. So a natural phenomenon becomes a crisis to be feared. Humans are followers for the most part.

You are correct that AGW alarmism is an artifact of 19th century physics.

    I think that's a pretty accurate description.
It's human nature to capitalize on opportunity, but honorable people don't do that at the expense of others or with deceptions.

Kind of like the opinion that cattle are producing too much methane, so we should keep less cattle. Ignores the needs and costs of feeding people.. and ignores the fact that the number of buffalo in America 200 years ago was far greater than the number of cattle today. Neither of those support the desired narrative, so they aren't used in the narrative.

Only by those whose agenda for government control of everyone's life is complicated by an uncooperative reality, The current population of the planet starves to death without fossil fuels.

Again for what it is worth we are having warmer than normal ocean temperatures because of a stronger than usual La Nina which is driven at least in part by the fact that we are also in the midst of a solar maximum. CO2 has nothing to do with this.

The point is that 20th and 21st century science has built on the work of the 19th century to improve our understanding. Those who remain stuck in the 19th century are indeed vulnerable to unfounded alarmist conclusions. Here's some impressive 21st century work.

The Winter Gatekeeper hypothesis proposes that changes in the meridional transport of energy and moisture are the main way the climate changes now and in the past.Sep 22, 2022

No, it is only deniable. But pretty much any indisputable fact can be denied. Disputing it would require some contrary facts or logic, and AFAICT, nothing like that is on offer.

I think the anti cattle sentiment comes from the PETA people. It has nothing to do with methane. It has everything to do with eating meat.

Then what we got is that everyone who says that AGW is based on science is mistaken. This in turn leads us to whether we want tax dollars also for clairvoyance, astrology, and communicating w/ the dead. My preference is that if the science is not clear then it's a goal for private --not tax-- funding.
The human race is growing. Wealth is being created. Objective metrics point to the idea that the human race is prospering and is in no way heading for extinction.

Assuming of course we can keep Biden and Putin from blowing us all into dust bunnies and the acolytes WEF don't manage to starve half of us through the means of sustainable farming
