I benched Mahomes in fantasy and he scored almost 30 points! Went with Tom Brady this time. My playoff opponent had Hill who scored almost 30 points! Darn! I started the week with all my bench players healthy. In 4 days, all of them except Mahomes (whom I can't use anymore in this round) are out, doubtful, or at least questionable. So, no depth. If another one of mine drops out, I'm in trouble, not to forget that I still have to catch up to my opponent's good performance with Hill yesterday.
Ouch, that hurts. Husband was pissed he stuck with Mahomes until he wasn’t. He also went with KC defense for this round.
Tom Brady is starting to look like he is losing it. Losing That Sunday Night Game (Saints 9 Tampa Bay 0) Can NOT Happen... An Inexcusably PRIDELESS Performance by TB12. Brady's Bedshit on SNF was so egegious, that even winning the Super Bowl would not be enough to live it down. https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/buccaneers-saints-tom-brady-tablet-throw-memes-video-gif
Well, he lost 3 of his best weapons in that game to injury (Godwin, Evans, and Fournette), his only top weapon left, Gronk, dropped the ball multiple times, and his offensive line had a meltdown, allowing him to be sacked 4 times and hit multiple times. I wouldn't start counting Brady out just yet.
Sadly, we lost one of football's all-time greats last night... This will always be one of my favorite moments in sports John getting the victory ride on his players' shoulders after the Raiders won Super Bowl XI. Rest In Peace, Coach.
Colts LOST to the Worst Team in Football (the Jags) and missed the playoffs. Given the Circumstances, as an Overwhelming (14 Pt/10 to 1 (-1000)) Favorite (against the Worst Team in the NFL)--It is one of the most egregious final week losses in recent history. On the other side, Big Ben (barring tonight's game ending in a Tie) will get another Playoff Game. Back to the Colts: As PRIDELESS as it gets. An All-Time Abyss in the History of the Baltimore/Indy franchise. No Excuse for The Colts. That CAN'T Happen. Period!
That's Good. B/c the Colts missed the playoffs. The Colts got humiliated 26-11 (and, knocked out of the Playoffs) by the WORST Team in the NFL. Absolutely, the Worst Final Week Loss in the history of the Balt/Indy Franchise. The Most Unforgivable, Totally Beyond Redemption, Loss that the NFL has seen in a long time. The Colts WERE (and ARE) a Complete Joke.
So the Dolphins win 8 out of their last 9 games, and they fire the coach....... The players loved that guy.
And although Jonathan Taylor help me get to the final, his performance in the last two games (plus no fewer than 4 of my main players getting injured) cost me a Fantasy League victory. I ended up with the silver medal.
Our Fantasy League had the Final Last week. (Wk 17) We set it up that way in case clinched teams rested players. I got burned last week when my opponent had Cincy WR Chase. Guy went off for 55 pts...Lol... And, speaking of Taylor: He led the NFL in rushing and was an awesome Fantasy Pick. BUT, when it mattered the most, he got stuffed at the goal line on 4th Down from the 1 yd line. And that was the season for Indy. PRIDELESS Effort... Gotta score that TD there.
The Colts deserved to miss the playoffs after losing their last two games, and what was supposed to be the strongest unit on the team - the O-Line - got manhandled by the Jags. That was a nauseating performance and they won't be missed. Speaking of faceplants, the Patriots and Cardinals stumbled into the playoffs, and the Steelers weren't much better. There's no reason to believe any of those teams will survive this weekend unless their opponents self-destruct. I can't say I'm impressed with the Champions of the NFC Least, either. The Cowboys haven't been running the ball well lately (forget what happened last week against the Eagles who were sitting a bunch of starters) and they were lucky to finish the regular season with a bunch of cupcakes on their schedule. I don't like their chances against the 49ers. I'm also having a tough time reading the Bills right now. I don't think they've been playing up to anyone's expectations. Here are my picks for WC Weekend: SATURDAY Bengals over Raiders Bills over Patriots SUNDAY Bucs over Eagles 49ers over Cowboys Chiefs over Steelers MONDAY Rams over Cardinals
"I'm also having a tough time reading the Bills right now. I don't think they've been playing up to anyone's expectations". ^Really? 7 for 7 TD Drives was pretty good... All-Time Record... https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/buffa...ry-touchdown-drives-blowout/story?id=82291901 Not really going out on much of a limb with these picks... SATURDAY Bengals -6 over Raiders Bills -5 over Patriots SUNDAY Bucs -7.5 over Eagles 49ers over Cowboys -3 Chiefs -12.5 over Steelers MONDAY Rams -4 over Cardinals ___________ Going with all Home Faves (Except SF +3). IF there was to be an "Upset", it would most likely be by Frisco or the Cards. Cincy and Buff took care of biz last night. #2 Seeds TB and KC should win today (as heavy faves)
So far, so good - all my picks won Saturday and Sunday. We've still got a great Rams-Cardinals matchup tonight and I only watched the first quarter of the KC-Pitt game, but the Bills were the most impressive team I watched over the weekend. They looked like the Super Bowl contenders a lot of people (including myself) thought they might be going into the season. Next Sunday's game against the Chiefs should be a good one. Looks like the Titans will finally have King Henry, Julio Jones and AJ Brown together in the lineup on Saturday against the Bengals...
Good job. 6 for 6. 5 Faves, and the only Underdog that you picked Won. Now, what about these? All Home Faves: CIN @ TEN -3.5 SF @ GB -5.5 Rams @ TB -3 Bills @ KC -2
Tough picks! There could be upsets in all 4 games. My initial thoughts: BENGALS-TITANS I've heard Tennessee is supposed to have King Henry, AJ Brown and Julio Jones on the field Saturday, and if they're all healthy I'm going with the Titans. If not, the Bengals could easily pull an upset here. Joe Burrow has been mighty impressive. 49ers-PACKERS I"m going with Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and the Packers here, even though GB has a habit of choking at home in the playoffs, which scares me. The 49ers are on a roll right now. Weather forecast: High daytime temperatures in the 20s will drop into the teens at kickoff and settle in around 5 degrees around the end of the game. West wind of 10 mph will make it feel like 10 degrees below zero. RAMS-BUCS The Rams are loaded with talent and the Bucs are beat-up real bad, but how can you bet against the GOAT? Ask Aaron Donald. If Brady has problems with anything it's pressure up the middle. TB12 can carry this team but he's only one guy on what's become a MASH unit. If Matt Stafford can avoid turnovers I'm leaning Rams. BILLS-CHIEFS Probably the game of the weekend. The Bills looked like Super Bowl contenders last weekend but the Patriots were every bit the team that stumbled into the playoffs. The Bills beat the Chiefs handily back in October but KC's defense has been playing much better lately. I like both teams, but I'm a Josh Allen fan and the Bills are bringing the #1 defense in the NFL, so I'm hoping they get past Mahomes and the Chiefs. Full disclosure: These are all sympathy picks, too.
Thx for input. Good thoughts. Honestly, from a betting (or predicting) standpoint: The Only SURE Thing, as I see it, is the Packers to WIN (regardless of margin). The other 3 games could go either way.
That's pretty bold - I'm leaning Packers but I don't see them as a sure thing. The 49ers' O-Line has been playing really well, even when All-Pro LT Trent Williams was out, and that's really showed up in their running game. If they get that going Saturday the Pack is going to be in big trouble. With all these matchups being as tight as they are, I think these games are going to come down to what usually happens in playoff games - the teams that make the fewest mistakes and can capitalize on the other teams' mistakes will win. That's where I think the Rams and 49ers are vulnerable - Stafford and Garropolo turn the ball over way too much for my liking, and that's why the Titans need Derrick Henry back because Ryan Tannehill is at his best handing off the ball. I'm jacked up - we've got four great games on tap.
