https://www.reuters.com/business/en...oil-prices-could-spike-winter-cnn-2022-09-11/ So oil prices will spike in the winter......of course, after the mid-terms. Biden has been releasing Oil from the US strategic reserve in order to push the price down and make it look like things aren't so bad. Things ARE that bad thanks to the dems. Of course they will blame it on Russia and anything else when it is Biden and the dems fault.
Before the mid-terms the democrats will be so concerned about the PEOPLE but after the election not so much.
I’m sure Janet ‘Da Bears’ Yellen had a stern finger pointed at her by Biden’s handlers who don’t any news that makes this administration look bad.
So you don't think any of the US strategic oil reserves should have been released? You don't think the situation with Russia has anything to do with international oil prices?
You are panicking a little bit that gas prices are getting too low, are you? Thanks for confirming that Republicans are praying for pain at the pump, so they can increase their chance to take back the House in November. Typical...
Do you think oil, or the lack of it, is a national security issue? If it is, shouldn't we be yanking as much of it out of the ground as we can?
Yes, oil is a national security issue. This is why we need to diversify away from it as quickly as possible. Drilling more is just like telling a crack addict they can get away from their addiction by buying more crack. In which world that makes sense, I don't know. Not in mine.
You can still diversify and control the your current means of energy. Look at how well EU is doing. They diversified so much they are literally at the whim of Russia.
Energy resources are relevant to national security and oil is one part of that. It's worth noting that the core issue is price rather than availability. The US (and other NATO nations) can get oil-based products, they're just having to pay through the nose for it. Oil is a private commodity and so however much is "yanked out of the ground" belongs to the international oil companies and they'll sell it where ever in the world they can get the best price. Even the US reserves that were released went to the same companies, hence the "controversy" at the time when people found out it wasn't all being used in the US. Also, governments can't force companies to drill. They can (and do) allow them to but it's down to the companies where and how much they use that. In the context of the OP, he is complaining that Biden released the reserves to drop the price prior to the mid-terms but as you demonstrate, there was lots of demands from his political opponents to do so (even more and sooner). That suggests you disagree with the OP.
Gas prices went up by $0.30 a gallon in the last week here. Voters will not be generous to democrats if this continues.
I just got gas for $3.70 a gallon, down $1.30 from the peak. You can keep up your anti-American prayers for bad news at the pump, but I am not sure if God is listening.
What's anti-American is running to Iran, Venezuela and Saudi Arabia begging for more oil production and ignoring our own oil industry.
When Biden stops releasing oil from the strategic reserve, after the mid terms, you will be paying more.
Given that it is your side that is against nuclear power, you don't get to pretend that you care about global warming. https://energypost.eu/15052-2/#:~:text=For example, it takes the,a single typical nuclear reactor.
Sure thing, would YOU like to have a nuclear reactor behind your backyard? As with pretty much everything, with energy, voters want to have their cake and eat it too. They want the convenience of high consumption of low-priced energy, but the want to have its production and the environmental consequences of it out of mind and out of sight. As long as it is in someone else's backyard, or pollutes someone else's air or water, they are fine with it.
using the reserve while prices are high, then he can refill it when prices are lower Biden cares about the American people, does the right want higher gas prices?
I said build a nuclear power plant next to Mar-a-Lago... that should help show them it's safe, I am not against modern nuclear power plants - seems the rich are though
There is a reason why reactors are not being built, and safety is the least of the reasons. Safety of Nuclear Reactors - World Nuclear Association (world-nuclear.org)
