One party rule - especially by Democrats - is quite harmful to liberty

Divided power is good for the U.S.; it allows for our republican form of government to most fairly and efficiently represent Americans.

One party rule, on the other hand, tends to allow those who would ignore our laws and constitution to grab power, and the more power they obtain the more they want.

Where most non-religious conservatives, for the most part, desire less government and simply wish to be left alone, the Democratic Party - again, for the most part - seeks more government control and power over our lives.

Look no further than California for an excellent example of this:

California Is The Only State To Hide Its Spending — Nearly $300 Billion A Year

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/adaman...y-state-to-hide-its-spending/?sh=581b500c72b7

"Do we have a representative republic if the representatives get to hide all transactions from the people—and claim that it’s for their own good?"

There's a reason California, more than any other state, is beginning to more resemble a third world shithole with distinct differences in how the wealthy and poor live their lives. The liberals/progressives/socialists who hold political power here are openly displaying the distain they have for the declining number of normal Americans who live here.

Sadly, the Democratic Party political operatives who pose as journalists in my former golden state have no interest in challenging the power base here. Indeed, as we see with the leftist national media, they're doing their best to prop up the corrupt apparatchik that makes up California's Democratic Party.

Normal middle class Americans will continue to flee this state, which will unfortunately lead to even more power for the leftists...

What is harmful to liberty is government corruption, not political parties. Both parties are corrupt.

Quite true but completely disregards the salient point of the OP. One corrupt party is infinitely worse that two corrupt parties.

I agree but it fails to point out the actual villain - government corruption. That was my salient point.

You certainly won't find me disagreeing with this statement.

I'm simply pointing out that one party rule allows for such corruption to go unhindered, especially with a compliment media.

But I will point out that, corrupt as much as the Republican Party is, you won't find a totalitarian state government in states where Repubs hold power. Idaho is much more liberty-oriented than California is, by any measurement.

Wishing government to go away and leave one alone will never be the standard in California and other leftist-controlled states...

I don't wish government to go away. I wish to alter the election system to provide a single term limit for every elected office. It won't eliminate corruption but it will put a dent in it. We certainly can't trust the electorate to clean up government.

Haha, I haven't been here in a while, but I see Trump is still living in the heads of liberals/progressives/socialists.

Why, guys? Why in the world are you still displaying such a bad case of TDS?

Perhaps you should, instead, be talking about the wonderful job Joe Biden is doing? :wall:

Or perhaps point out that California is not a shithole leftist-run third world country as I point out in my OP?

Assolini does have quite a good grift going with the cult followers. Don't be a follower be a leader.

How is it you cite disasters as doing a great (or even good) job?

Helping Americans is a disaster only to those who hate our country.

So another two trillion is going to help the economy :) What it buy will never overtake the increase in inflation it will cause..

So, there is inflation. Pandemic caused an interruption of the world economy. Biden did not cause it.

The democrat party caused and he "ByDumb" is the Democrat party by a large margin "So he brags".. Printing money to pay Americans to stay home cratered our economy, it was warned and now, here we are! There is a lot more to it, and all debated at length.. Seeing that you are new 12/5/2021 you are pretty far in the rears on this site and the whole covid affairs starting back in mid Jan 2020..

I don't really know how one would encompass all that on this site and subject

Yup, they wanted Trump gone so bad they sacrificed our nation. And now they haven't a clue how to reverse it ;) You'll see! And printing off another two trillion, "If it happens" will only make it much worse because, we all know from Mr. Obatard that Democrats don't spend very much on infrastructure when they get a bag of money ;)
