~ This is the danger when these mobs stop and surround an occupied vehicle. I suppose several of that group could have been shot. Personally I would side with the people in the car.

I think you've lost any objectivity. This was not a riot, but a peaceful protest. Legally, they should not have been in the street versus the side walk; however, the police on duty were marching in the street behind them to protect them. That says that the march was condoned by the city, and/or the police should have made them get off the street, but did not. That comes down to enforcement of the law.

And now you're stereotyping all of them as "welfare recipients"? Shake my head. In Austin, I expect a good number, if not the majority of the protesters are UT college students whose wealthy parents are paying their tuition, books, rent, bills, fancy new cars, tofu salads, and Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes. Call it "parental welfare". lol

Both Perry and Foster's family should sue the City of Austin. If the city condoned the protestors being in the streets, yet did not block off the vehicular entrances to those streets, then the city was grossly negligent and should be held responsible. Austin politicians made some really dumb decisions to allow the protestors to break laws instead of protecting law abiding citizens' rights. Maybe with the next social issue that pops up, the Austin "leaders" will progress to letting the protestors drive cars on the sidewalk.

    Owner occupancy rates perhaps?

The rent trap within cities is mind numbing.

they're getting handouts from Taxpayers since they are not at work

in Texas the Taxpayer does not have a duty to retreat from the lawless welfare recipient making a call to action.

This is Austin, Texas, not Seattle or Portland.

Six days after Foster was shot, it appears that most of the college kids who were having fun protesting decided to pick a different pass time.

Last night, about 20 protesters were out, walking on the sidewalk. Man gets arrested. Dog gets arrested. Wonder what the dog did? Taken away in unmarked cars. Protesters get pepper sprayed.

End of video shows woman looking up at a building, talking to the wall. That seems sane.

There are local rumors that Antifa people from Portland are going to being in Austin this evening for a "BLM Defund the Police" rally at the UT Tower on the university campus. They've sent notices to a few mid- and high-rise apartments to look for armed snipers on roof tops and call police if they see anyone on the roofs. Police have staffed up and Texas DPS Troopers will be there. Yikes!

~ You should have a dash camera for your vehicle. They are now very affordable and most of the bugs have been worked out. Our smartphones have videocam.
~ I am really surprised we have not had a BLM CHAZ in Los Angeles .

Yeah, I've been "bragging" that Austin isn't like Portland or Seattle, but apparently law enforcement got word that they are "importing" rioters from Portland...and plan to attempt a CHAZ/CHOP thing here this evening.

This woman, Troxclair, was the last moderately conservative woman on the local city council before it went 100% left-wing crazy people.

I need a live feed.... and popcorn.

Not really, this could be the one that gets real. Chekhov's gun is back and the curtain is about to rise.

I'm not to sanguine about this moment.

So far, antifa is doing the correct thing continuing their protesting mostly in the blatantly white-supremacist strongholds of Portland and Seattle.

As for Austin, not seeing any news on the net about protests occurring tonight. LSG, do you have any updates?

Austin protests ended peacefully yesterday evening, restoring my faith that even in the most liberal city in Texas, law and order still prevails.

Like last Saturday, there was no safe way to drive on Congress Ave., but instead of protesters "taking the streets", a large group of heavily armed men did.
