Glad Michigan sees what an atrocity this law is. Hopefully Florida follows suit. Any law that allows for unarmed minors to be shot to death doesn't deserve a place in society. At least not here in America.

SYG has been active long before this hot mess--only it was illegal. My point: no one cares. If you try to mess with someone or rob them they'll (*)(*)(*)(*) you up.

Read the 2nd Amendment. That is EXACTLY what citizens have. We get to kill the criminals who seek to harm us....

 

Stand your ground is a great law. Its sad that you have to have a law that says you can defend yourself, but thats the world we live in.

 

What is wrong with defending your life? It is basic human instinct to do this. Tigers do it...lions...moose. It is an inalienable right. Remove the legality of using a registered gun to do it, they'll use an unregistered. Most crimes aren't even committed with registered guns. In New York we have strict weapons laws but...people still have them. We're defending weapons charges all the time.

Drug laws didn't stop people from using drugs. Repealing SYG won't stop people from buying guns or using them.

Safety is an illusion. The belief that a law prevents anything is an illusion. It is a tool to punish you later...and then only if you're poor and use a public defender. Rich people will always get off because they have the best lawyers.

 

Liberals are just people that have not been assaulted yet.
