ONE stolen vote, is one too many.

Too many Dems are as fine with illegals raping and murdering our wives and daughters as they are with them stealing our votes.

That's the ones that are able to be found. How many get through without being found? We don't know because we have no readily available way of finding out. Even Obama admitted during his 2nd re-election campaign that immigration status is not looked for.

Regardless though of whether there's zero cases or 1 billion....why are you against a bill making sure to get verification of citizenship status? Every other 1st world country has such measures. Yet its wrong for us to have it also?

Example of another country requiring proof of citizenship from ChatGPT:

    upload_2024-7-11_21-7-2.png

So what's the problem with it? Honestly, tell me why its wrong to demand proof of citizenship in order to vote?

Because it is already federal law to begin with. 52 USC 10101 states

If you read the SAVE ACT, it requires to show proof US Citizenship when you register to vote, not when you vote. Here is also what it does:
    • Further, the bill (1) prohibits states from registering an individual to vote in a federal election unless, at the time the individual applies to register to vote, the individual provides documentary proof of U.S. citizenship; and (2) requires states to establish an alternative process under which an applicant may submit other evidence to demonstrate U.S. citizenship.
    • Additionally, the bill requires states to remove noncitizens from their official lists of eligible voters
    • The bill allows for a private right of action against an election official who registers an applicant to vote in a federal election who fails to present documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.
    • The bill also establishes criminal penalties for registering an applicant to vote in a federal election who fails to present documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.
    • The Election Assistance Commission must, within 10 days, adopt and transmit guidance for implementing the bill's requirements to chief state election officials.
    • Each state must take affirmative steps on an ongoing basis to ensure that only U.S. citizens are registered to vote, which shall include establishing a program to identify individuals who are not U.S. citizens using information supplied by specified sources.
But it does not solve the problems of voter fraud that have permeated the headlines. The Heritage Foundation provides a summary of those crimes. Turns out the crimes are being committed by USC and predominantly by Republican voters, not illegal aliens. The illegal or noncitizen line is a fantasy concocted by conservatives to confuse voters on who the real culprit is.

The other problem is voter rolls. Every state and county in the United States, plus the District of Columbia and the US territories. When an election comes up and the voter rolls are provided, it is pretty automatic in those counties that only USC are on the list of who can vote. It is not every tom, dick, and Juanita on that list. It is done by princinct and whether or not you have previously voted, requested an absentee vote, etc. This bill does nothing, IMO, to make sure that people who are USC and are generally Republicans, from violating the voting rules as the Heritage Foundation points out. None of them were noncitizens, at least I could briefly scan, or ilelgal aliens. Numbers do not lie, do they.

This is just too generalized. No one like anyone being raped or killed. But it was a Republican who gave a job to the offender in the murder of Mollie Tibits. We also have the Georgia case. No one has full-proof ESP on what will happen in the future. We can predict based on past behavior, such as prior criminal arrests and/or convictions, but that is about it. Gross generalization of a group of people makes as much sense as claiming all white, conservative voters are supporters of the insurrectionists on January 6th. Want to play this game? Fine,. I wil just use overt gross generalizations about every conservative like to every crime committed by a conservative.

This is a good reminder that you should actually do your own research rather than relying on ChatGPT. Of course, that takes a few minutes more, so I won't hold my breath.

Having voted in something close to 30 elections of various sorts in Australia I'll back my experience and research (yes, it is permitted) against ChatGPT any day.

    1) Documentary proof of citizenship is NOT required to enrol to vote. You have to provide some proof of who you are, but that can include a declaration by someone else on the electoral roll.

    2) I honestly don't know if I have a 'voter identification number' because I have never seen or had to use such a number. I have never noticed it next to my name on voter rolls when I've been marked off. It may exist, but people don't use it to identify themselves.

    3) I do not EVER recall having to provide ID to vote. Not once. That includes when I have voted in a different electorate. You just walk in and give them your name. They look it up on the rolls and mark it off. If there is more than one person of that name in your electorate they might ask you an address. That is it. Done it dozens of times.

So, worthless information from a worthless source.

There have been attempts by people on the right to bring in voter ID laws - sadly our right wing morons like to imitate their equivalents in America. It has quite correctly been described as a solution in search of a problem and is clearly an attempt to stop valid voters from voting. Voter fraud in Australia is extremely rare and in tiny numbers. Further, our (independent) electoral bodies are extremely good at detecting irregularities down to a few hundred votes.

It's also already against the Law for them to enter illegally.

This law would have deported them for illegally voting, that's why Open Borders Dems voted against it. They are fine with our wives and daughters getting raped and murdered by the Open Borders Dems illegals, because they want the illegals to steal our votes.

Bribed Joe and the open Borders Dems are in open Rebellion Against We The People and We The People are the just authority of the United States. You'll hear from America in Nov.

Not surprised ChatGPT is wrong about Australia. Its also no surprise to learn that Australia doesn't have such requirements, especially considering their illegal immigration laws are MUCH harsher than what we have in the US. Not to mention its much much harder to get into Australia illegally.

What would such proof consist of? I have a driver's license and a passport, neither of which declares my citizenship status. Will we all be required to carry around copies of our birth certificates?

There is quite literally no connection between the two issues, though I'm not surprised a right wing American jumps straight to that as an explanation. You guys have two or three catch all conclusions/excuses that you bend every piece of information to fit.

It is clear that one of the big advantages ignorance and a subculture that revels in ignorance is that you get to just make up 'facts' whenever & however you want knowing that not only will none of your peers call you out, they will actually agree with you. It is all about repeating talking points and reinforcing feelings rather than actually understanding anything.

    The tribe will be pleased.

So, I provided a source, that source was wrong, and I admit it. Didn't attempt to dispute you in any way. And you still act as if I was "making up facts". Or was that in reference to my comment about how illegal immigration laws and harsher and harder to illegally enter Australia? Is that what you're disputing? I would certainly hope not. Even the Human Rights Watch calls the indefinite detention cruel.

A Birth Certificate will certainly do it. Though you don't need to carry it around with you. Simply providing it when you go to register to vote would be enough according to the bill. It also looks like its going to amend the Real ID Act so you may need it to get such an ID.

Democrats only require you have proof of citizenship once, when you register to vote. They then only they require that you have proof of identity and residence. A letter delivered to you covers that.

This concept of denying tens of thousands of voters for lack of carrying some often difficult for some to obtain ID is absurd. You can register near your home, often even in your home. You can vote near your home, often from your home. But the ID issuer might be across town and take multiple trips and be absolutely no more secure than the letter delivered to you by the Post Office.

What makes it even more ludicrous is that I have never seen a single case of someone trying to circumvent the law using a fake ID. The closest I can think of was the elderly woman who signed her husbands mail in ballot because he died before mailing it in himself. I am not aghast at such an action by a woman grieving the loss of her husband. I am aggrieved that the voter office even brought it up let alone charge her.

Why do Democrats think that its so hard to obtain an ID? You need it for practically everything now a days. Do they really think people are that incompetent?

Also, if you had read the bill you would realize that this bill is about registering to vote. Its very first line is: "To amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office, and for other purposes." and it even carves out something for those with disabilities further in. It also provides for those that cannot provide the normal documentary proof of citizenship.

Tell ya what...why don't you read it yourself instead of trusting what you're told? Tell me what parts exactly do you think are onerous in it. Please quote or give the section/paragraph that you're referring to. It's not rocket science. The only logical and common reason for opposing proof of citizenship to vote is so non citizens can vote.

Do you know what a nightmare it can be if you don't have an official, stamped copy of your birth certificate? It isn't something one generally keeps handy. To get one, depending upon your birth county, can be a twisted battle with red tape and can take weeks, if not months. You usually have to go in person and wait most of a day, to boot. And for many older folks in rural areas, such a document never even existed.

I didn't need one to register, in four states. I provided it at 16 when I got my first driver's license in California. I needed only that license to get a license in other states -- Kentucky, New York, and now Colorado -- and register to vote in those states. Why is that a problem? What this bill is asking for is unnecessary, and it's only being proposed in order to make it harder to vote.

Not everyone has a passport. They cost money and can take months to receive.

The only reason for this bill is to repress the vote, period.

I know what it takes to get your BC. I've had to do it. Its not that hard. Especially with the internet. And I don't even live in the same state where I was born and never had to go there. Btw, if you read the bill you will find that there is consideration for those that can't easily get citizenship documentation and for those with disabilities.

There's more to those but as you can see, they've made accommodations.

Is there going to be some hardship? Perhaps. For some. They have 2 years for elections for Congress and 4 years for POTUS elections. You cannot reasonably expect anyone to believe that it would take more than even the 2 years to get proper identification in order to vote. Even with red tape. Even you admit it would only take months at most. Big whoop. Someone has to do a bit of extra work to prove their citizenship. Wah.

Yes...its xenophobic to want to make sure only citizens can vote. You have no cogent argument, and cannot do anything but attempt insults. Weak.
