As expected, no connection. Was Global Warming The Cause of the Great Northwest Heatwave? Science Says No. Charles Rotter The evidence for a predominantly natural origin of the high temperatures records of last week is compelling, with global warming marginally increasing the peak temperatures by perhaps a few degrees.…
That was a fine post by Dr. Mass! He makes clear you don't need global warming to create this heatwave, heck he actually said it was NATURAL forces that created it.
Very very simple Read the IPCC reports - even if you just stick to the summaries - it is all there - the science and the evidence all laid out
not I paladin.. it is below normal temp here.. haven't hit triple digits in weeks now! Maybe time for another ice age?
You ever hear the quote "If I owned Hell and Texas, I'd rent out Texas and live in Hell"? that was attributed to Gen Shafter, for whom a town just 20 miles north of here was named (and which is typically 5 to 8 degrees cooler than here during th e day)
Another blog from a denialist website You know in all the years that Anthony Watts has been doing this what level of academic recognition has he gotten? And the scientists are right one heat wave is not definitive proof but a series…….. Now I might be missing something but I cannot find one reference or citation anywhere in that blog post and it is full of graphed data - so how do we know that those graphs were not made up?
Nope. And, I'll never get to experience that live as I will not dare fly anywhere south of IL in Summer months. Did you see that post by @LangleyMan that a town in Canada literally went up in flames? My eyes are still popping out over that one. I'll take my wonderful below 0 temps here in Chicago any day of the week over that kind of heat/hell. Blankets, fireplaces, ovens, electric blankets, electric socks, etc. all work against cold. There's only so much one can take off (and still be legal in public). Nope. Not gonna do it!
I live in Bama and it has been wet and cool this year so far. Kinda humid but not bad. Watermelon still look good with no brought in water.
On my likely to be unfulfilled bucket list I want to experience desert heat with NO humidity, probably just as miserable in a different way....
