Inside NDAA, the military, at Oramas direction, can detain, without charges, and deport you to any prison in the world. One minute you could be in your kitchen, posting to this forum, and the next minute you are chained down in a C130 headed to Gitmo.

Think I am wrong? Check it out.

Obama signed the bill because he had no other choice. If he would have vetoed the bill, defense spending wouldn't have been authorized. Along with that Congress would have overridden his veto.

i'm sorry, I thought he was a guy who could "get things done".
Come to find, he's a powerless excuse maker after all.

This is a political forum, a large one. In this large political forum, very few people find it interesting the military now has jurisdiction over civilian affairs, with the powers to arrest you, detain you, for as long as they want, without charging you, or telling your family you have been detained, or even deported to a prison outside the USA.

Sheepel, going down the loading ramps.

America has gone flat-line as a society. The USA I grew up in, has gone room temperature.

Good enough for you. Now that you treat yourselves the same as foreigners, perhaps you'll stop the extraordinary renditions, gitmo, torture and murder that you inflict on the rest of the world.

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

The president is the person that people put as the head of the government, but due to the system of check and balances he has around the same level of power as the other branches of the government.

The Congress wanted the army to be able to detain US citizens, so in order to do that they attached it to a "parent document." This was the NDAA bill. They knew the president would have to sign it, and even if he vetoed it it only takes 2/3 of the Congress to vote that it should be passed to override the president's veto. Since Congress wanted it passed, the bill would have been passed even if Obama said no.

The curtain is about to fall when the fat lady sings, so the story goes.

How many more fundamental rights go out the window before the curtain falls?

Let's see. Fema camps, money paid to bankers, no jobs, and on and on. Now the military has the right to arrest anyone in this forum If they disagree with something said here.

I have had a good life. I am ready to hand it all over and daydream in jail how good it once was. Are you also ready?
