So that you better understand, the electors don't vote for whom they like. They vote for whomever won the election in their state. The electoral college is there in order to even political power among the states, not to change the results of an election. If we didn't have an electoral college, only New York and California would have to have presidential elections. It would be pointless in the other states. It was one of the best and most prescient things the founders did. Let me know when you have an electoral college in Russia.
