~Our world is better because religion ~

Religion is a source of our morality. Having said this I do not meant atheists are immoral. Without religious beliefs or doctrines one can be Good or attains godliness and others with religious mindsets can act demonically at times. But on average religions keep us from straying from our positions. Today there is some harmony in humans it is because of religious teachings. There are some issues, no doubt, that relate to inhumane, brutal acts like sacrifice, at times they sacrifice human beings to please their gods, and there are so many people battled to establish or spread their faiths that kill so many innocents.
But keeping aside all these things religion still is rooted in moral principles that can save humanity.

 

I think you missed my point unless you wanted to pull something from my post to promote your views.

It is pretty evident that religion has done both equal good and bad in this world as we have created it in an attempt to understand this reality. Yet, it is something we should pick and choose what we take from it. Take the good from it and disregard the immoral.

The fact that religion has done both good and bad shows just how non-absolute it is and how unreliable it is to use for the sole purpose of trying to 'revel reality'.

 

I support this view. Religion is man-made and as such there are flaws as we all humans have and it has been later on given so much power it has been atrocious or else religion could have been a great benefactor. Religion must stay in the background not in the foreground.
