Would anyone believe that Edwards is a Republican?

    Neither would I.

This is unbelievable. Who lets convicted murderers back onto the street? I’ll bet half of these murderers are back in the joint pretty darn quick.

I might be wrong but weren’t these pardons for death row inmates as part of his stance to end capital punishment?

Personally I don’t think any politician should have the ability to pardon.

Before I judge him, I would like to hear the details about some of these men convicted of murder.

Obviously many governors are too cowardly to pardon convicted criminals before their last days in office due to a fear of backlash from the voters.

Well, of course, the outgoing governor is a Democrat. That's what they do. Release prisoners from prison. I don't think that the pardoning power should be taken away, but maybe the politician should be willing to spend the night with the prisoners in the same house prior to release. If you think this is bad, wait to see what Biden has planned on his way out the door.

I was trying to find a less biased source, but it does sound like some (most? All?) of these guys been in prison for decades already.

I don’t mind pardons for legit reasons. I hate the political pardons like we saw with Clinton and Trump. I’m hoping Biden does more like Obama and W.

A pardon doesn’t necessarily mean the individual is released from prison by the pardon. Most pardons issued are for people who already served their time in prison, and have been living as law abiding citizens for an extended period of time.

Example, Robert Downey Jr was pardoned in California back in 2015. He was already long out of prison at that point in time, but was having his record cleared for good behavior since his release. That’s what most pardons are
