So why is that an American president can not express any kind of opinion in any way shape or form without people having all kinds of knee jerk reactions and over the top interpretations to it?

Does this not apply to everyone in politics? Oh, it must only count as untasteful when it happens the the guy you like? Get over it.

Untasteful isn't a word. Learn proper prefix usage.

    You shouldn't assume things.

I personally don't care if a President expresses an opinion, regardless of party affiliation. I think it's wrong to overreact when he does so. It doesn't bother me if all he does is expressing his opinion.

I feel compelled to ask why you would post the above. Are you the word police or do you feel the urge to help a fella out? Do you enjoy just randomly posting wherever possible because, relevant or not, it makes you feel good about yourself? Do you think it is tasteful to make a comment that is not only irrelevant to the actual topic but may send the thread in a different direction? What is your motivation? Because no one here cares how the message is conveyed so as long as they get the point. With that said, step down off of your fictional grammar pedestal, remember to stay on topic, and that no one cares about the improper use of the word "untasteful" as much as you do.

Yeah, I called that response alright. I love it when people play holyer than thou and act surprised when people act political in politics. Obama is receiving the same treatment as he gave Bush when he was president. Its been going on sense the founding of our republic. And yet people are still as surprised as ever? Amazing.

let me help you. Obama/Barry is the illegal president of the most powerful nation on the planet and his opinions can affect a lot of people. His opinion that the USA is bad and should be destroyed is one of importance to a lot of people.

It's not "improper use" because there's NEVER a proper use; it's not a real word.

The individuals who haven't mastered basic linguistic skills are the same people who chronically complain about the quality of our public school system (usually on THIS board). I'm doing my best to supplement your lack of work ethic while in school with post-secondary (assuming you graduated high school) education.

Did you edit because of improper prefix usage?

No, I edited it from "uses" to usage." Both are grammatically correct, but I prefer "usage."

    Complete nonsense.
The only people who spout this sort of ignorant tripe are irrelevant, lunatic fringe types.
Most people read this idiocy and shake their heads that such stupidity is even possible.

Exactly. I used to be enraged about that nonsense; now I just shake my head in utter disgust.

It's for "you're" benefit (see, you can't even differentiate between simple homophones like "your" and "you're").

I guess you haven’t understood me yet. If I want your help I'll ask for it. In the name of reason and sanity, quit clogging up posts with unrelated comments to fulfill your sudden urge to correct everyone else for your personal gratification.

See? You've already mastered "you're" vs. "your."
