In Pakistan an atheist blogger, that operated under pseudonim Ayaz Nizami had been arrested and faces court with charge of 'blasphemy'. Crime, that likely to be punished with a death sentence.

Ayaz said to be an ex-muslim, with degree in study of Islam - a theologist, I suppose. From what I understood, he also was an atheistic activists.

This is not the first time when decidions of Pakistan court higly contrast with law norms of other countries and shock the world - in the past decade case of Aasiya Noreen, known as Asia Bibi, pakistanian christian, accused of blasphemy, resulted in big public resonance - with her execution being in delay still. Her family went into hiding to evade being murdered - a fate, that befell Salmaan Taseer, governor of Punjab, and Shahbaz Bhatti, minister of minorities affairs, who defended claims of Noreen's innocence.

Currently Ayaz case is still in hearing and notreceived final sentence, but public demands execution.
