So, about those certificates of immunity. Why are people freaking out about this? Obviously in a health emergency, rights are massively curtailed. Quarantine measures have been around since probably before the invention of writing. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some cave painting somewhere of some coughing villager stuck in his hut. My problem with creating a registry of immune people/certificates of clearance, is the law of unintended consequences. Immune people are probably going to enjoy some privileges, like going back to work. So, if I'm a young person who's out of work, I would try to get infected as quick as possible to get that clearance to rejoin society. That's my problem with this. I don't get the constitutional argument. During a deadly pandemic, we suspend a lot of constitutional rights. Why has the idea of these certificates riled people up so much? What do they think the govt. is going to do?
The people resisting this will be the same ones that think the progressive countries cheated by starting up faster and with fewer deaths. Lot's of good jobs going around to sick people and asking them who they have been in contact with though.

What is that kind of thing called again? That thing that people could use to -infect- polling places if they didn't have it and present it -ONCE-, those little square plastic laminated cards? Rotor FLY-T? Pikcher IT? what was it again? something like that. Mhmm. And just like that, ladies gentlemen, with a couple of waves of the magic wand, just like that, POOF, Certificates of Immunity will never ever be heard about again from the LW! Isn't that AMAZING!
Well! if someone came to your work infected with Ebola, wouldn't you have preferred they had a Certificate of Immunity, before you found out you had been infected and started Bleeding out of every Orifice in your Body. If a Certificate of Immunity is what it takes to stop the spread of this Disease, it's a GOOD thing.
