Jesus's Gospel wasn't where he walked, lived, how many people he met, the population, where they paid taxes, or anything like that. His gospel is the gospel of his Father. And that is to have faith, to repent, be baptized, receive the holy ghost, to pray, to forgive, to hope, to love, to help others. All of his sermons go to the freeing of ourselves from the spirit and character of Satan, and to prepare us to go to heaven and live with God. He showed in his conduct and words how to do so. And in the end he laid down his very life. At that, according to the testimony, he took his life back up again to bring about the resurrection or victory over death unto that eventuality and day when the trump sounds.

In the LDS Church, we have another testimony of Jesus Christ in tandem with the Bible, by a people who lived on this side of the world. It's called the Book of Mormon. Jesus said, when two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst. In the BOM, he visited the people here after his resurrection, set up his Church, called Disciples, preached the same gospel, and performed miracles. It's an easy to read and interesting book that begins in Jerusalem in 600 BC by Jews who God led out of Jerusalem and brought here by ship, and ends in 400 AD in the area of present day New York.

The U.S. Constitution stated no such thing that blacks are 3/5ths human. Obviously, you and many others do not understand the three-fifths compromise and have grossly misinterpreted it.

So, I hope you will read more carefully here what I'm going to present so that you will finally understand what the three-fifths compromise was really about.

Ok thanks will for your post, I hope after reading this article you and others who held the erroneous and distorted interpretations came away with a clear understanding of what this three-fifths compromise was really about and not hold on to the misunderstanding you all had previously. If you continue to hold on to your erroneous and distorted interpretations and spread it elsewhere it will only intensify the societal divide in America. So be a patriotic American and stop this societal divide in its tracks.

Like the end of the article stated: Erroneous and distorted interpretations of the Constitution only intensify the societal divide in America.

You, like others, simply avoid the fact that Jesus birth nativity was simply made up. That makes Jesus simply a Jewish Preacher. A study of the OT against Jesus preaching shows he stayed with his Jewish beliefs. A few additions by Christianity change that.

And your BOM is simply a story that goes against what is genuinely known about the US.

From the article you posted, "In 1787, the founders were attempting to form a union and preserve the nascent United States. This imperfect compromise allowed for preservation of the republic while also confronting the moral and systemic evils of slavery."

What a bunch of hogwash. The 3/5 compromise was the "best of both worlds" for the slave holding states. It allowed them more political power than they would otherwise be entitled to while still denying basic rights to those held as slaves.

If the Founding Fathers had REALLY wanted to "confront the moral and systemic evils of slavery" then they would have demanded that slaves not be counted at all for purposes of apportionment OR be counted as a full person and outlawing the institution of slavery.

The compromise allowed the institution of slavery to continue for almost 200 more years and even THEN required a bloody civil war to finally abolish it.

And in the end he laid down his very life.????

    He gave up a weekend.

When someone sacrifices their life for another it's with the knowledge that they are NOT coming back. That their existence will cease so that someone else can live. THAT is a real sacrifice. To call what happened to Jesus in the Bible a sacrifice is to cheapen every heroic effort done by any human in the history of mankind.

Jesus took a weekend off and it wasn't even a four day weekend.

Dude, what Jesus did brings eternal life to everyone, your preference for hopelessness and vanity notwithstanding. His offering will resurrect history's heroes. And they will all rightly bow because he destroyed death and sin. For you to say otherwise is to cheapen the heroic acts of all mankind along the course.

    Evidence.

There is no evidence, outside of the Bible, that Jesus was anything but a human preacher. No evidence that he was resurrected from the dead, no evidence that he offers life after death, none, zero, zip.

Did anyone ever claimed it did?...I would think not. Btw, what is your definition of "systemic racism"?

Racism is not something you can defeat entirely. As for the civil war, the main objectives of it were to end slavery and still keep intact the southern states from seceding from the United States after the war was over which the civil war accomplished under the great leadership of one of the greatest Presidents ever in President Abraham Lincoln. It was such a very sad tragic day when a low-life filthy coward assassinated the great President Lincoln.

And back to racism, racism is everywhere in the world, it is not just confined to one geographical area. It's just part of the inherent sinful nature of mankind.

But regarding this country the U.S.A., we have undoubtedly made great progress in bettering race relations as compared to the times when it was in its most disgusting abhorrent state but of course you can never entirely get rid of racism as I've already mentioned above. There will always be people with a sinful hateful heart towards others who are different from them. Truth be told, people will hate others for all sorts of other reasons never mind racism.

Sorry but you can't make an unsubstantiated statement painting a very broad picture, saying it is present pretty much everywhere.

I agree wholeheartedly with what Brother Injeun had to say in responding to you.

Thanks Brother Injeun for your post, it was so well expressed with concrete points presented.

And thanks to you will as well for your post.

I see your point and cannot refute the lack of evidence. As for Jesus nativity, I can only say that when Gods spirit knew me, I knew him and could see that my life was in him rather than in this life into which I was first born. So now there is a new light in my sky to which I look and turn my back to the former. So I have full confidence in Gods capacity to cause a virgin who he created to conceive and give birth to his only begotten Son. Likewise the new light, the star of Bethlehem to which the wise men were drawn in witnessing the event. Though mine is internal, yet the type is the same.

The problem with that, though I don't know Mormon teaching on 'original sin' is that if Jesus was born of Mary he was of human flesh - therefore sinful.
I don't know the Mormon belief with regard to 'original' sin, but if Jesus was born of human flesh he was sinful. He therefore died for his own sins as well as others. Of course, in Judaism, he was born sinless but was responsible for his own sin in life. That seem much more realistic.

Interestingly, the seven SC Justices who ruled that blacks were private property and could not be free citizens, were Democrats. The two justices who voted against this were both Republicans.
After the civil war, Lincolns General Sherman who was a Republican, gave all freed blacks forty acres and two mules each, and sovereignty to rule themselves. Then Lincoln was assassinated. His assassin was a Democrat and an actor. Lincolns VP was a Democrat who became President. This Democrat reversed Shermans gift to blacks, taking away their land, mules, and sovereignty.

You know Gift let me do this for you, I will bring back two previous posts that I presented to you in the past. They were regarding inerrancy of the Bible which is just another way of saying the Bible is the 100% word of God and has no faults. So, it really doesn't matter which Bible it is and it's obvious that you have forgotten what's really important here, so here's a flash back from the past below, be sure to take some notes.

According to the Lutheran church you say...so funny Gift.

My faith is built on a foundation of solid rock because I have faith in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ. And so just because I believe in inerrancy doesn't mean my faith is built on a foundation of sand. First of all let me point out to you that we are not saved by believing in the inspiration or inerrancy of the Holy Bible.

But rather we are saved by believing, having faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior from sin.

    We Read in Scripture:

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 NLT

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said, 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave [a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NLT

So what's of vital importance is that we do have to believe, have faith in Jesus Christ who is Our Lord Savior, and who is proclaimed by the Holy Bible.
Ok Gift thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it to let it be made aware to you that believing in inerrancy doesn't mean one's faith is built on a foundation of sand.

Well the statement, "not necessarily Christian faith" means possibly but not certainly —used to say that something is not definitely true.

Because you do have some Lutheran churches who believe in inerrancy then there are other Lutheran churches who do not believe in it. So Lutheran churches are split in regards to inerrancy of the Bible.

Below is an article from the Rev. Stephen K. Preus who is the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Vinton, Iowa. His church believes in inerrancy. And he talks about their founder Martin Luther who strongly believed in the inerrancy of the Bible.

Ok Gift thanks for your post, it was a pleasure from me to respond to it.

In the LDS 13 Articles Of Faith, number two states: We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/article/articles-of-faith

It was basically a religious rite and was required of all of Abraham's descendants as a sign of the covenant God made with Abraham. It was an Old Testament Mosaic Law but today's New Testament Christians are no longer under the Old Testament Mosaic Law and so circumcision is no longer a requirement.

But here let me present a video explaining the Abraham Covenant that briefly touches on this Mosaic Law requirement of circumcision as being part of this Covenant between Abraham and God that will hopefully help you understand and answer your question adequately.

Ok thanks JET for your post.

You do realise that other nations also practised circumcision before the Jews.

The oldest depiction of circumcision comes from a bas-relief (above) in the necropolis at Saqqara in Egypt dating to c. 2400 BC. (long before supposed Abraham - my insertion) It was performed with a flint knife on young boys as a ritual transition from boyhood to manhood. As can been seen in the art, the penis was anointed with balm and bandaged after the circumcision. About 100 years later an Egyptian named Uha described his circumcision along with many other men and said he acquitted himself valiantly.

Bas-relief can be seen on https://earlychurchhistory.org/medicine/circumcision-in-the-ancient-world/. The Jews simply took something that was already in place and used it for their own beliefs.

Jesus himself would agree with you, I think. He exhorted listeners to seek, ask, and knock for Gods reply. So scriptures point to God, but they are not God themselves, just words on paper. One doesn't pray to or worship the Bible. Sometimes one can find answers to prayer in the scriptures. But it is not evidence of God or that it even comes from him. As Atheists know, it is only self congratulatory, or the building of understanding in an already believing person. We cannot insert ourselves into the storyline and declare ourselves of the flock, when we are essentially eavesdropping on a conversation between Gods people from thousands of years ago. It would be highly presumptuous. But they can inspire us or stir us to look to and find this God of whom they speak. Seasons come in grace and are not rushed. So too should we live our lives as well as we know how, towards betterment and renewal.

Then again, one may serve the Devil, or one may serve God. They are not made the same by serving. But distinguished by whom they serve. And in the end, either dragged down or lifted up.

Your claim that all Bibles are 100% God's word .such that no bibles have any faults is a demonstrably false proposition my young deceptive apprentice.

Whats more .. is were it the case that were true .. would be quite a demonic stew .. as any group of devils could put together a Bible .. having it say what ever they like .. promote the most evil ideology .. but your claim is that this is 100% God's word .. 100% with no fault .. because it is a Bible .. call it the New Global Translation .. taken from the Good News Translation .. newly revised.

So once again we find you on the dark path Brother Mitt .. rushing towards the Dark side of the force. Do you still think Lucy is going to show up with horns and a tail like the naive fundamentalists ?

One Bible says Stone the Adulterer ... The other Bible says Free the Adulterer - let ye without sin cast the first rock ... our Lord doth not condemn the whore..

Which is the true word of God ? What does God command us to do. Should we kill this woman or not ?

But the Hebrew god had yet to appear in the future. They were long before his time. They served the devil?

Slaves were considered 3/5 of a person. That is a simple fact.

Let's remember that without that statement in the constitution, blacks are considered as full persons.

Your cite (without even the courtesy of identifying the source) assumes that it would even be worse without that clause. That is an even clearer argument that blacks were not considered humans.
Ignoring the constitution and American history DOES NOT IMPROVE ANYTHING.

In fact, it is a belief that our very foundation means something that it certainly did not mean to our founders.

It is a total denial of the struggle over our treatment of blacks that started at day 1 and continues through today.

In all seriousness, many men have low sex drive. In fact, today it can be associated with professional stress, which Jesus surely experienced.

Also, there is the possibility that he was gay.

If he had had a wife, his professional life would surly have precluded being an adequate husband or father.

While this might sound heinously radical, it doesn't change his message in any way.

I would say that his personal life really isn't an issue at all.

There is no possibility of a scientific experiment that would lead to an answer to the question of the existence of a supernatural being.
