Rep. Paul Ryan: An Obligation to Run? Now this is going to be interesting. He's clearly going to be the smartest guy in the room. This may be my guy, if he get in.
I would favor Ryan over most the field on fiscal responsibility. I do not know about the rest of his positions, so I would have to learn more.
That would be stupid, he should run for governor of Wisconsin before trying a White House bid. Congress critters make horrible presidents, just look at Obama. Executive experience should be a core requirement, and Ryan lacks it. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but I'd hate to see him ruined by making a run for the White House when he's clearly not ready.
This is interesting. I take Ryan for not being (as much of) a professional B.S. er like many of the other choices. I'm going to hear this guy out.
Normally I'd agree, but Ryan is a different animal. The guy is truly brilliant and knows how to articulate his views. If he can get the nomination, he'd crush Obama in every sense of the word in the debates. I would almost feel sorry for Obama there (er, maybe not).
Prep him for VP then, that would be a good move. Like I said, I like the guy, hell I voted for him when I lived in his district, but that will never dissuade me from demanding my presidential candidates have executive experience. If he won the nomination I'd vote for him, he couldn't possibly be worse than Obama.
He's very solid in every area. Trust me, if he gets in, he's going to turn the race upsidedown. I have a feeling he'll become a star after his first debate. Just a hunch.
VP would be a good move, especially if he starts to rise in popularity. He truly has Kennedy potential. The problem is, he's so sharp, he may cast a bit of a disappointing shadow on the guy at the front of the ticket. The only guy I could see him not doing this to is Christie.
Nope, he'll bring hope for a 16 year conservative reign as VP, and that would be great for the country.
He'd got that way about him. Very articulate way of putting things. I don't see him coming on like gangbusters, like Perry. But I could see him rise like a dark horse toward the end of the process, slowly gaining a following little by little, debate after debate, TV appearance after TV appearance.
That may be interesting. I have a feeling if Perry wins, he picks Bobby Jindal as his veep. I like Jindal a lot too.
Yes, remember how pathetic Obama came across during the HC debate in the meeting where Ryan, with the 2000+ page bill in front him layed out the truth and Obama's response amounted to nothing more than accusing Ryan and other rep's for using the actual bill as a "prop"! Obama was pissed and he came across as arrogant child.
Yep that's essentially my take. The POTUS is not only a CEO decision maker, but a figure head. Ryan comes off in a way that would make me proud as an american. He's tough and intelligent. In heated situations he comes off cool and collected. Obama, as Trump pointed out, started out as inspirational (or at least seemed so), but then turned out to be "a very negative person," especially with the wave of blame-shifting as of late. That's a big turnoff. It's embarrassing to americans. Ryan's road will be tough, though. His positions are right and sound, but haven't resinated with the public yet (nor do I think have been properly understood). But if anyone could sell it (and clarify it), though, it's him. But it will be a long process. If he does rise, it would be as a dark horse.
