100 years ago today Canada entered the First World War. It was supposedly a war to end all wars. The British declaration of war automatically brought Canada into the war, because of Canada's legal status as a British dominion which left foreign policy decisions in the hands of the UK parliament. " Canada's contribution was great as was her sacrifice, I pause for a moment to remember the sacrifice so many gave and also thank all those Canadians and allies then and now who defend our way of life.
