[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8sZ0hYMNVw"]Pay Your Bills REMIX HD.mov - YouTube[/ame] Warning: Extremely not safe for work. This video has gone viral to the point where it's been remixed. Fiscal responsibility isn't "fringe", "racist", or "terrorist". It's simply *common sense*, and it's where the American people are at.
http://www.politicalforum.com/current-events/announcements.html Forum Rules and Guidelines (Revised 7/17/2011) (2) Creating threads: We will be taking a hard line with new threads, to keep the board from drowning in substanceless threads. The point of the forum is *discussion*; threads that don't promote discussion will likely be deleted. In particular, the following types of threads risk being deleted without notice: One-liner threads Threads containing just videos with little or no commentary (it's the video version of a one-liner) Threads that do nothing but promote the poster's blog or other outside site. Threads that lack elaboration, links or other content that might actually lead to discussion. Duplicate threads. We'll merge threads, within reason. But if there are already six threads on a topic, we'll probably just delete the seventh rather than go through the effort of merging it. If you want to avoid that, use the search function to check whether a thread already exists before starting a new one.
another black guy who obviously knows nothing about the constitution he should have spent more time learning the laws of the land, how to correctly wear a hat....and how to speak without using profanity.....and less time coming up with a cute nickname
Yes it is. The point (you must have missed it) is posted directly below the video. Do you contest anything I've stated?
Suggesting that a modern government operate in the modern world without any credit at all is insane. BEEP, you have reached 911, please leave a message because the property tax money funds used to run your local police department have run out. Please leave a message and we'll be happy to get back to you next billing cycle. In the event of an actual emergency please call the county sheriff, state police, or national guard... who ever is open?
Hey, I liked it ! The "Norfolk State" line had me howling. For those dimwitted ones who keep saying that "we can't run it like a household", evidently you are either not thinking, or not paying attention, or are hopelessly lost to the left, which encompasses the first two .... and then some. Even Keynesian economics revolves around a time frame of budgets that are collectively balanced. That it is OK for the government to stimulate the economy, etc., at times, but that it must then practice austerity so as to create a surplus in offsetting years. Keynesian economics is not constant, much less expanding, deficits. This can be the theme song for the BBA. "Frikkin bills" is all.
It means that we cannot exceed our revenues except in times of declared national emergencies and declared wars. What do *you* think it means? /the vast majority of States have already figured this out.
Do you ever have to tighten your belt for months at a time ? Change your habits so as to stay above water financially ? Why can't the government do that ? Why can't the government reduce unemployment benefits by 10% for a year ? Reduce or eliminate hiring ? Tell anyone on the dole that they are getting less for awhile ?
Dude, you guys are asking the wrong guy. Money is a myth only supported by the belief that the government that issues it will honor it. The fact that the government issues currency first, collects taxes second, and pays bills third is solely for some level of transparency. Why not pay bills first/while issuing currency then no credit needed.
You need to research that a heck of a lot more. There are many states that must balance their budgets that are just fine. Those that are not, and CA and IL come to mind as the most egregious, are so because of bloated spending. Those states in the most trouble with regard to bond insurance, which is the best measure of a state's fiscal soundness, are so because of three prime factors: Debt now; projectd debt, usually as pensions; and current high taxation levels which allow little room for raising more revenue. Basically, all kicked the can.
Small wonder, as California is one of the few States that doesn't have a balanced budget amendment. Coincidence?
Actually, if you saw the original video, he recommends the opposite approach as a protest. "You don't pay your bills? *I* won't pay my bills. You're leading, I'm following." Good point IMO.
It should be noted that most American households have at least 100% of their "GDP" (annual salary) in debt (mortgage).
