This Judge knew her stuff unlike the DOJ Lawyer numpties who appeared before her. This EO of Humpty's* is going to be nuked and I'll bet even SCOTUS will join in giving it the boot.

    Hegseth said:

And yet, the Commander in Chief, Humpty*, Coward Bone Spurs truly lacks a warrior's ethos, is a liar, is not humble, is selfish and cannot meet mental fitness requirements.

How on Earth can Hegseth credibly allege that? Simply because a person is transgender, ipso facto, abracadabra, they instantly become cowards, liars, lacking in integrity, are selfish and mentally weak. Absolute tosh, and I'd prefer the opinion of seasoned experienced Military Chiefs on than that, over the opinion of a prejudiced wanker whose claim to fame was being a Fox TV presenter, and has been in the job for less than 60 days, FFS!

These numpty Lawyers referenced what they called expert reports and then conceded that none of them had actually read any of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nah, this is motivated by malice, plain and simple prejudice and animus.

    From a Google search:

    Link to an Australian example.

Group Caption Catherine McGregor, four military distinctions.

    Bah.

Meanwhile I am pretty sure that jugdes will be slaughtered, like federal workers, gays, lesbians, and transgender will.

The memo at issue specifically targets people with gender dysphoria, not all transgender servicemembers. Historically, the DoD has been given broad latitude to determine which medical conditions disqualify an individual for service for reason that have to deal with the cost of medical treatment to the taxpayer as well as operational readiness. The judge is going off on tangents rather than focusing on the language in the memo. The question is can the DoD disqualify someone for military service for a mental health condition like Schizophrenia, PTSD, gender dysphoria, etc. This would disqualify prospective recruits and current service members would continue to have any earned military benefits, if medically separated, such as access to the VA health services. This is what the case is about and it likely won't be settled by a district court judge. I suspect it will be decided by the appellate court or the Supreme Court.

So, an activist judge decides to change the policy of a nation. And lefties cheer. At least Schumer admits to having done this to the nation. This is, after all, his legacy. This is the tyranny that he so deviously instigated. Can't keep a non-deployable, non-warfighter out of the army, but by god, you won't be able to get a big gulp or use a plastic straw.

I mean in the willingness for one person to impose their personal obsession on others, demand they pretend it's not there.
The qualification to do any job includes many things, not the least of which is to be able to focus on that job and not be obsessed with personal issues.

Transgender people are always in that category- trying to escape themselves by becoming somebody else, which they always know is a fake person, and are constantly trying to convince themselves
is real... and demanding that others help them do so; help normalize the abnormal for their comfort. That is never going to work, for them or society. There is no escaping that obsession, and it affects everything they do.

If you have personal issues like that, they are your business- until you want to inject them into areas where they interfere with the functionality of my business or that of organizations like the military, where such things degrade the overall capacity of the organization. I wouldn't hate a person who decided his arms were paralyzed and refused to use them, but I wouldn't put him on the baseball team.

The term for the condition of transgender people- is "Gender dysphoria".
Dysphoria is "a profound state of unease or dissatisfaction. It is the semantic opposite of euphoria. In a psychiatric context, dysphoria may accompany depression, anxiety, or agitation."

Gender dysphoria occurs when the person perceives that the cause of that discomfort is their gender- and that the only way to escape it is to change their gender.
Gender is not determined by the doctor or parents, it is a biological function that begins in the process where an egg is fertilized and become a zygote, a single-celled fertilized egg.
This, gender is not "assigned at birth", but in fact, determined in the first few days after conception. Gender dysphoria is not due to any physical error or malfunction, it is an abnormal psychological condition.
While genetic accidents do occur where the process is in some way physically faulted, that is an extremely rare condition. The vast majority of "transgender" people are dealing with a delusion that has become so obsessive it dominates their perception of self.

This condition is not a disease, not communicable- but it has spread in popularity as a solution to the discomfort of dysphoria. Once called "Gender Identity Disorder", the condition's name was changed, dropping the term "disorder" to remove the stigma the thought associated with it. It is obviously a disorder; denying that- renaming it to make that less relevant made it a more attractive way to deal with the discomfort- simply become someone else.

I have no doubt the condition is uncomfortable and interferes with the person living a normal life. Psychology is not like the physical medicines where external treatments can solve problems, Dysphoria is not a physical condition, but a state of mind. I don't believe I have a right to control other people's minds, let alone the ability to do so- but I disagree with the idea that society should ever normalize what is an abnormal and inaccurate mental state.

First, look up the definitions, the medical statements regarding this. This is what they say. While I have a lot of experience and expertise with people who have had various forms of obsessive thinking and dysphoria, I do not have a solution. A condition that exists in a mind can only be corrected by the mind itself- all any treatment can do is try to guide the process, but unless the person can be convinced to change deeply embedded beliefs, it won't happen. It is impossible to help someone who is fully commited to a false reality.

The choice to normalize the abnormal is invariably a bad one, and creates more problems while curing none- and that includes their condition. Like the emperor who wore no clothes, but the people pretend he is not naked, so they don't offend him. Makes the people who recognize the reality the bad guys. I'm not advocating any kind of punishment or abuse of transgenders, they have enough to deal with- but helping them pretend is not help at all; it is harmful in the long run.

I don't think anyone wants a world where nobody dares to recognize truth.

What you can participate in (other than what you personally control) is entirely dependent on what you can bring to the table. A person confused about their identity is bringing trouble. These people demanded that our society join their delusion, allow males to use a female restroom or dressing room because they were feeling feminine that day- and demand that nobody use any words that reminded them they were fakes. Not for a moment have they considered the distress they caused to normal people.

Men faking as women, participating in their sports for example. This has often been second-rate performers showing poorly in men's sports.
Reminiscent of Southpark character Eric Cartman pretending to be mentally handicapped to compete in the special Olympics.

"I'm not happy with who I am, so I have decided to tell myself I'm something I never was and never will be, and the world must help me pretend it's true..."
That is THEIR choice. You are free to tell yourself you are whatever. You are not free to demand others tolerate your obsessions, not free to impose them on others, not free to violate their rights, not entitled to disrupt their world.

Gender dysphoria is a mental illness. Rather than coddle them and go along with the pretend game, we should be offering them better mental healthcare which is something our country desperately needs.

Josh, how can a group with a demonstrated suicide rate approaching 50% useful for combat? It is pretty clear they want to join the military to get free sex change operations on the taxpayers dime.

This is perhaps the most SEVERE mental illness in America today. No other mental illness has this level of self termination. Surgeries aren't going to fix the mental illness. Mental illness is an obvious disqualifier for combat.

Great... if she made her order/injunction firmer..... how is she going to enforce it? She is not in command of the Armed Forces and can't MAKE the administration do anything about it..

Perhaps their suicide rate is so high because they are so hated and discriminated against.
Lots of us had mental illness for combat. I was diagnosed for PTSD after my second deployment, then I deployed two more times. The Army didn't give a **** that I had come very close to committing suicide and that I spent about a week in a mental ward walking around in a hospital gown. I got out of the hospital, got my orders to my next unit, and was right back in the desert kicking down doors again.
Maybe instead of denying them service, we simply say we will not pay for the surgeries. that way, if they are serious about serving, they can pay for their own surgeries and still have the opportunity to serve.

Unfortunately the problem is more complicated than that. It's one thing to offer help, another to get it accepted. If you need heart surgery, a doctor controls the process. When you need to change the way you think, the problem is also an internal one, but the only person who can make it happen is the one who has access- and that is the person themselves. With the assistance of good guidance, it's possible, but it requires the full cooperation of the individual, and generally requires they be willing to change some fundamental elements of thinking that they have used all their lives. Much of this is sub-conscious, meaning it defines the meaning and value of new information without the persons conscious examination or awareness of the process- but that process controls the perception they will respond with. You can clearly describe the changes that need to be adopted, show them how and why it works- and see it soundly and immediately rejected. While many troubled people need and look for help, they want that help to solve their problem without disturbing what they already believe and want. That makes the task virtually impossible. In other words, the cures for many mental issues of this nature exist, but the people who need them aren't buying them. I do not have an answer for that, nor do I know anyone who does.

What does enter into this is the quality of the environment children are raised in, which is the period where the fundamental elements of thinking and values are established. If a society can improve that, it improves the capacity and mental health of the next generation.
