Key words: "this has been DoD’s longstanding policy" Its surprising there has been a drag show at a base, but if there was, then it was against existing rules anyway.

Not sure drag shows on a military base makes even the slightest difference if you're not transphobic, but at the same time, removing them doesn't make the slightest bit of difference either because drag shows are stupid and pointless. If it was longstanding policy not to have them, then the recent spate of drag shows on military bases should have never occurred to begin with.
