The percentage of Americans who vote for the Democrat Party who identify as "religious" has dropped by 20 percentage points over the last 20 years. The percentage of Democrats who identify as religious has dropped more than 20 points between 1999 and 2023, a recent Gallup survey found. When Gallup first polled on the topic in 1999, 60 percent of Democrats identified as religious, as did 62 percent of Republicans. Since then, the percentage of religious Democrats has fallen 23 points to 37 percent. "During that time, the percentage of Democrats identifying as spiritual but not religious has increased 14 points, while the percentage saying they are neither has tripled," the survey found. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/...mong-democrats-crashes-20-points-in-20-years/ This means the Democrat Party (which is the one out of the two major parties further to Left) has become increasingly atheist, rather rapidly over a relatively short span of time. This likely may have some political ramifications.
The Democrat Party overall appears to have a nihilist mindset. It gets some details right, but doesn't have any vision for the future, it lacks faith hope and love. The present policies are based on hate, not love. Bidden wants war with, Russia, China, N Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and a few African countries, all at once. He also seeks to destroy America. So how is he going to use America to destroy all those other countries while he is opposing America? He will fail. He doesn't know what he wants, just has a huge pile of doesn't wants.
I suppose that's true. The world is becoming more secular, which is having ramifications, and the makeup of the democratic party is one aspect of that chain of events. I guess the change is likely to gravitate towards the democratic rather than the conservative.
A very good comment. I think there is another factor to add in; that cultures and populations are synergistic, so a failed culture like the godless democratic party has, will self-destruct and limit it's own spread in that way. But unfortunately it will damage the United States and other countries in the process.
That fits the prophecy I posted long ago some where. World power has been fallen to the hands of the atheistic world leaders. The pale horse.
A country with an ideology and philosophy of life that is unethical and evil will fail and that is the natural cleaning up process that selected for Judaism and Christianity. You can see that right now as the Russian Federation with only 3.5% of the GDP of NATO has been winning almost from the start, although the western media is still lying about it. The US has an immoral leadership that just wants to go to war with anyone and everyone to make money for the weapons industry. With lack of any vision the country is going in several different directions at once, most of them with no purpose.
This poll surprises me. I can understand a drastic drop in white democrats and younger democrats because they have a very European view on religion. I am surprised the Black, Latino and other immigrants demographics did not drive their numbers higher.
My understanding is the European view on religion comes to a large extent from a deep distrust of the authority, guidance and wisdom of the church. In World War 1 (refer to the Lord Bishop of London address to the troops departing for war in 1915) the Church of England told their congegations it was in God's will to kill the German soldiers, and the Bishops of the churches in Germany told their flocks to kill the French and British troops. So you get a picture of a **** fight with the churches on both sides goading their congregations to kill each other. I wouldn't trust a word either church had to say after that. That isn't to say Christianity itself is at fault
Just because a person or group claims to be Christian doesn't make it so, and the false religious are usually easy to spot: Matt 7.15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? No, I will not attempt to justify all decisions made at the top level in the Church of England. But to reject all morality because there are some very flagrant examples of high up church people being immoral is going too far, just find a good church, and now is an excellent time to find a good church because the bad ones are all busy blaming Russia and have clearly shown a failure to make good use of the time on earth by not distinguishing right from wrong and failing to provide good guidance. Basically the bad churches just don't give a F***.
Christianity has been increasingly entangled with politics, in some cases blatantly so. In my opinion, as Christianity ignores or actively opposes policy issues that are both important to various demographics and not inconsistent with the teachings of Jesus, one should expect members to be alienated. Beyond that, Republicans are doing Christianity no favor by using their claimed (but highly questionable) religious ideas as weapons in political partisanship.
Jimmy Carter was the last President who applied Christian principles. GWB was an obvious fake, said he talked with God daily but got a million Iraqis killed by failing to stand up to Cheney/Wolfowitz/Romsfeld/Rice and seemed unaware the claimed plot to kill Bush Sr was a fake, and claimed the war in Iraq was mission accomplished when it wasn't. I don't think he did speak with God. Biden is pretty much a copy of Hilter, hates everyone and wants to go to war with a whole bunch of countries all at once. Bidden has no vision for the future, doesn't know what he wants, he is a nihilist, totally incompatible with Christianity or Judaism. Donald Trump is a basic Christian, on a firm foundation, wants the best for Americans and people in other countries. Therefore the Military Industrial Complex wanted him gone. No wars means lousy profits.
Your evaluation of Biden is absolutely hilarious. Donald Trump is a blatant criminal who doesn't have a Christian bone in his body. Nor does any other white supremacist.
I recall long ago those few of us who were outed atheists used to debate amongst ourselves if religion had an upside, and some would argue the while we saw through the bullshit that was religion, many needed it, it kept society cohesive, and was a crutch many couldn't do without. As society has become less and less religious, as atheism has grown, this view seems to be showing some legitimacy. We now have more secular people falling into the same mind traps, tribal thinking, and I dare say religious mindsets as religious people did back then. Concepts like original inherited sin, that we criticize in religion seem to often get reborn in new forms in secular movements.
Yes, the advantages of Christianity are pretty profound and often forgotten. A consistent atheist mindset is nihilist and everything becomes equally worthless. 16 I said to myself, “Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.” 17 Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. Take away the wisdom and that's Joe Biden summed up.
