Name one reason (Besides your dream of fighting the Government) why they need one?

Even the Founders owned private firearms. Next time try reading the whole thing, its the shortest and most succinct amendment in the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton was killed by a privately owned weapon of war. Oh, I get it, you folks think you know the Constitution better than those who wrote it...

It is not a dream, but a precaution. It would be a person devoid of any knowledge of history to believe that the potential of Government oppression is non-existent. Do you really trust Government that much? What is your basis of this blind faith?

He seems to think the Founding Fathers were paranoid.

The founding fathers needed civilians to form a Militia (there was No standing Army)...Those days are long over...The founding fathers also believed Black people should be slaves...Those days are long over..

    NRA trains police.

    https://work.chron.com/nracertified-range-safety-police-officer-training-30067.html

A leader in providing firearm safety and weapon usage training, the National Rifle Association of America provides training and education to gun enthusiasts of all kinds, from hunters to hobbyists. The NRA created its law enforcement arm, the Law Enforcement Division, in 1960 to expand its training programs to include law enforcement. At instructor development schools located throughout the country, NRA instructors train police officers how to become firearm safety instructors and teach in academies and police agencies.

Do you truly deny a major conspiracy exists to terminate the NRA as well as gun toting Americans?

Democrats so loathe the 2nd amendment one might think during their total ruling phases since 1933 they might have killed it by this time But they argue in favor of infringing on our rights.

Well the NRA has become a Radical Voice, unlike in its past history...I'm guessing many of their members are uncomfortable with it..

To a point. There are millions of people who don't grownup with a father or a solid "home" who don't go on killing sprees.

There are a multitude of converging factors. Economic station, broken homes, mental illness, psychological medications being vastly over perscribed, the isolation that can be fueled by echo chamber websites, the self inflected view of the perception of societies standards, plus the increasingly vapid "mainstream" culture of crap that gives people a vastly outsized (or inferior, depending on which side of the fence you end up on) view of themselves and their position in the world.

Then you have public figures pushing anti-"the other" views (whether it's the evil Republicans, evil Democrats, evil illegal immigrants, heck evil immigrants, evil conspiracies, etc...) Who people look towards for guidance because they used to be people of character and moral principles of humanity and compromise to move forward.

I'm not sure it's going to get better anytime soon, but more focus on the good things in life needs to become more mainstream. Also, the de-consolidation of media from single digit overarching organization's needs to happen post haste. No more Sinclair/Disney/Comcast/Hearst et Al
No one company should be able to own more then a small portion of the media. Media should not be profit driven either (I hope the Clinton's burn in hell for the telecommunications act he passed)

No it isn't. Terrorism is the use of terror to further a ideology. Gang violence is about turf and control of illegal operations. The killing of innocents is a byproduct, not the main focus.

They didn't think black people should be slaves, they simply did not end the slavery enacted by Britain, France, and Spain. In fact there were plenty of free black people in the colonies. You folks sure should learn a little history before spouting off all this nonsense. As to the militia, you realize that individuals were expected to furnish their own weapons of war, right? Perhaps that is a good plan, no more semi-auto for me!

Total nonsense, terrorism is defined by its effect, and the people who live in gang infested cesspits are too terrorized of the gangs to even report their crimes. The fact that gangs can intimidate whole neighborhoods, DAILY, is more damaging to the population than the occasional mass shooting or even bombing. But liberals don't care about minority violence so they just ignore it, and all the illegal guns, and other crimes. You know your enemy, whitey, and you never fail to take shots at that target...

    Fascinating.

Tell us all about these so-called "weapons of war" and how they can be "easily obtained".

Not that I'm in the market, but is Wal Mart suddenly selling M4 carbines now? Perhaps, Bass Pro is hawking M16A2 rifles in their shops? You know, REAL fully automatic, military-issue weapons of war - not the "assaulty" looking semi-automatic rifles that civilians are legally allowed to possess.

Then again, maybe you had something more exotic in mind? I just looked online to see where I could easily obtain a fully automatic AK-47 but I'm not having any luck. The ads say "full auto" but all the rifles are semis. Talk about false advertising - just when someone says you can easily obtain a weapon of war it turns out that you can't.

To be perfectly and boringly honest, the closest thing I've seen to an actual weapon of war that can be easily obtained is a Remington Model 870 shotgun.

Neither are citizens beholden to do evil or commit unlawful acts.
