#PIZZAGATE, real? fake? conspiracy? cover up?

I'm afraid none of this is new. It wasn't new when tricky Dick was on HUAC & it wasn't new when Abe Lincoln was clean shaven. I doubt Palin has ever had an original thought in her life. You give her too much credit. It also isn't confined to the political right. Plenty of this sort of idiocy when W was President. Go back 30 years from there & you've got the Weather Underground & the SLA.

It is incumbent on reasonable people across the political spectrum to try to keep their part of the discourse as civilised & sensible as they can. To that end, ditch the Nazi Germany comparisons. You don't have a clue how Jews felt & you never will. You aren't living in Weimar Germany. That sort of apocalyptic rhetoric is exactly the same as extremists on the other side use to justify themselves. No need to emulate them.

The fact that our righties are on board with Putin interfering in the election actually isn't that surprising. There is an entire chunk of the American right that can barely restrain its admiration for Putin. They talk a good game when it comes to 'liberty' and all that, but deep down they get VERY hot & heavy when they see a hyper-masculine man using force to get his way. Their inner authoritarian isn't very well hidden, even if he is out to destroy their nation. Sad little men.

 

I disagree. I remember the nutty left. They didn't have a guy in the white house. And this is precisely how Hitler rose to power. When facts don't matter. Trump's own son said it. When crowds here, in THIS country, are cheering for torture, we have entered a new and very dark era. My country is unrecognizable to me.

A sickness that is spreading like wildfire. I think you have failed to learn from history. If you want to defeat evil you have to recognize it.

Olberman was recently cited for a rant that shocked everyone. In fact he was only doing with right wingers have been doing for two decades now. You can tune into any right wing hate radio program any day of the week and hear the same thing.

Liberal radio has never worked because it wasn't hate based. Watch that change.

 

Wrong. There is so much circumstantial evidence that I believe Pizzagate is real and should be investigated by the FBI.

And since John Molesta (he responded to a phishing email which gave someone access to all his Hilary emails) is the responsible for the WikiLeaks revelations, the loser "progressives" may turn on him and expose real evidence. But then that might take down a lot of other "progressives" who are involved, so maybe he will get away with it.

 

I agree there is too much weird lingo in the released emails to be swept away as "conspiracy theory"/"fake news"/(the next term invented by the establishment to shut down inquiry). A simple reading of the data points should at the very least cause one to question "Exactly what were they talking about?"

If someone wants to ask questions about our elites, that shouldn't merit such a disproportionate backlash. If kids were never abused, that would be great, but they are, so to prevent it, somebody has to stay vigilant, albeit online. Full disclosure, I've never been accused of leading a pedophile ring, people don't hack my emails.

 

I don't know "how" true it is. but I feel it's not fake either. Podesta is a creeper. The kind of guy liberals would love to party with. Plus, DC is a sest pool for all kinds of this stuff so that makes it more possible. I think this should be looked into and not swept under the rug. There is a ton of evidence, but no smoking guns. Who knows, maybe in a year or so, all this will lead to people getting busted.

 

Sorry, but this is NOTHING like the way Hitler rose to power. There simply isn't a comparison. Please do some reading on the matter. The Weimar Republic had barely existed for a decade when it ceased to function as a democracy - three years before Hitler came to power. There is zero comparison with modern America. Trump is Berlusconni with orange hair. That is a very bad thing, but it isn't in the same ball park as Hitler. Insisting on the comparison is the same as all those right wingers insisting that Obama was a 'communist'.

Trump is plenty bad. Dragging in the Nazis just torpedoes any point you are trying to make.

I've spent most of my adult life studying history - up to PhD level. Mislabelling a phenomenon is extremely dangerous. Insisting that 'lessons' exist that don't is also dangerous. American democracy offers people a truly vast number of intelligent, legal options for resisting governments you don't like. Use them. Conservatives have been for decades.

I think this particular conversation has run its course.

On Sunday, a gunman walked into Washington, DC, pizzeria Comet Ping Pong and fired at least one shot in the course of investigating the ridiculous fake news conspiracy theory known as Pizzagate. According to conspiracy theorists, Hillary Clinton and her campaign manager, John Podesta, ran a child sex ring in the basement of Comet Ping Pong, which doesn’t even have a basement. This has gained enough traction on the fringes of the internet, despite having no evidence to support it, that someone decided to arm himself and investigate.

Late Show host Stephen Colbert took a look at the conspiracy theories last night.

“This is a lie,” he said. “We all know the only people who are trapped in a pizza place are those robots at Chuck E. Cheese’s. I’ve seen Westworld. One day they’re going to rise up and kill us all.”

How did this ridiculous conspiracy theory take root? Colbert explained: “Apparently, some alt-right folks were combing through Clinton campaign emails hacked by Russia and published by WikiLeaks, and noticed there seems to be more references to pizza and pizzerias than they had expected. Which can only mean one thing: secret sex ring.”

But it gets worse: This isn’t just getting thrown out there by random eggs on Twitter; the conspiracy theories around Pizzagate have been promoted by Donald Trump’s pick for national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and his son, who was just fired from Trump’s transition team for sharing fake news.

“Okay,” Colbert said, “then I decide a guy who spreads this bull(*)(*)(*)(*) shouldn’t be in charge of national security.”

Colbert is no stranger to this particular conspiracy theory. On Reddit, some Trump supporters said Colbert was linked to Pizzagate because he mentioned pizza on his show toward the end of the election. (“I have absolutely no part in the Pizzagate conspiracy,” Colbert responded, turning to another camera, “is what they want me to say.&#8221

And as recently as this week, Alex Jones, head of the fake news site InfoWars, suggested that Colbert was on Hillary Clinton’s payroll because Colbert was positively mentioned in her campaign’s emails and he worked with the campaign to decide what should be done and talked about on his show. (“For the record, she can’t afford me,” Colbert said.)

Colbert acknowledged he does make some agreements about what to talk about with the people he has on his show, including politicians like Clinton and Trump. He even briefly showed the notes that went between his and Trump’s people prior to Trump appearing on The Late Show. But he declined to read the notes or elaborate on what they said, stating that there’s a tacit agreement between Colbert and his guests that these pre-show preparations stay private.

“There’s a difference between a conspiracy and an agreement,” Colbert said. “A conspiracy is what villains do. An agreement is what adults do. Look around the country. Wouldn’t you agree we need some more adults?”

Putting this all together, Colbert concluded with a simple message to Jones and other conspiracy theorists: “Grow the f*** up.”

 

Colbert says they got no basement, but they seem to disagree. Kinda weird? Why lie?

 

The irony is the police have investigated a few of the ringleaders of the pizza gate conspiracy from 4chan and a few of them were busted with child pornoraphy. It seems like the more into pizza gate a person is the likelier that they are a sick freak themselves. But of course that isn't a surprise.

 

Interesting... haven't heard this but it could be because pizza gate is like black listed. If you got a link to the story, that'd be cool. If you ask me, it looks like an intimidation kinda thing. Don't dare talk about pizza gate unless you're clean and pure like the wind drivin snow. It makes it smell worse. I've never seen a story like this.

Nope, but it was a well done one. It's like the moon landing in a way. It is possible, maybe even likely, but there is no proof or smoking gun. It is a trip and seems to align with the trends of the ruling class of humanity has had scene there has been a ruling class.

Because reporters went there and they don't even have a basement. This crackpot story has been 100% debunked. But the false claims did almost get someone killed.
