I'll be honest... I don't understand it myself. I've been asking Republicans to explain what the Impeachment or Impeachment Inquiry is about. It has been impossible to get a straight answer. I mean, they are LOOKING for a motive? They have the perpetrator... now they need to find something wrong... anything...

The question is simple. Imagine somebody asks you "Why are you guys impeaching Biden?"

This is going to backfire really really bad. Now Republicans can't even THINK about shutting down the government. This gives Democrats license to add as much pork as they want. And if Republicans shut down the government... a 24/7 a short political ad would go something like: "They can't keep the government open. Because they are fishing for... some reason to impeach Biden... and they can't find any". A 15 second commercial playing over and over! What will be the Republican's 15 second response?

Don't respond to ME. Respond to the American people. Because, if you go on and on about Hunter, and how you're going to LOOK for a crime and THEN you'll look for evidence and THEN.... maybe, possibly, you will answer the question because... you know... "this is just an inquiry"... You've lost their attention. And very likely their vote.

There is a reason why it's DEMOCRATS who are putting out ads about the impeachment. It's because it benefits them. Because even if they DO manage to impeach Biden, they will be obliterated in the Senate. MORE free political advertising for Democrats. It will make MANY 15 second ads.

So please show us YOUR 15 second ad telling Americans WHY you impeached Biden.

Can we cheat and just copy and paste the two impeachment cases against the last president and change the names? Would that be sufficient given the current president allegedly took bribes from foreign countries, extorted a foreign government to obstruct justice in a foreign country to cover up a conspiracy his son's company was involved in, and he personally financially benefitted from, and he has actively engaged in an undeclared foreign stealing billions of dollars from the US tax payers and murdering tens of thousands of foreign citizens in the process?

The DOJ Office of Legal Counsel declared in January 2020 impeachment inquiries were “invalid” unless a vote was held in the House. That opinion still stands.

McCarthy has a bit of an issue. He doesn’t have the votes in the House to open a formal inquiry and the administration can ignore what he’s announced relying on the opinion of Trump’s DOJ.

Don't you think the case would be more persuasive if there was some factual evidence behind those baseless, conspiratorial allegations? For example, this..........extorted a foreign government to obstruct justice in a foreign country to cover up a conspiracy his son's company was involved in........has been proven to be a steaming pile of horseshyte and will remain so no matter how many times you folks make the accusation. http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ng-regarding-biden-and-ukraine-policy.613315/

This what talk of impeachment is about.

Trump Has Been Privately Encouraging G.O.P. Lawmakers to Impeach Biden

Over the past several months, Mr. Trump has kept a close watch on House Republicans’ momentum toward impeaching Mr. Biden. Mr. Trump has talked regularly by phone with members of the ultraconservative House Freedom Caucus and other congressional Republicans who pushed for impeachment, according to a person close to Mr. Trump who was not authorized to publicly discuss the conversations. Mr. Trump has encouraged the effort both privately and publicly.

Ms. Greene, who has introduced articles of impeachment against Mr. Biden, said she told Mr. Trump that she wanted the impeachment inquiry to be “long and excruciatingly painful for Joe Biden.”
    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/13/us/politics/trump-gop-biden-impeachment.html

Repubs, knowing impeachment is dead in the water, just want a counter narrative to Trump's trials.

If I were a far-right conservative, and thankfully I am not, here is what I would say. Background of the US American flag with some light patriotic music. I will start off with My fellow Patriots, and then explain that Joe Biden is a communist sympathizer, we hate him, we hate his policies, and therefore, should be impeached because our Dear Leader is indicted four times and we consider him King of the Country. Only True American Patriots believe this. If you don't, the same fate awaits you.

Probably not that direct, but essentially that will be the message.

Maybe we can start with him using US taxpayer aid to blackmail a country into firing a prosecutor who just coincidentally happens to be investigating the company that hired his son for an obscene amount of money with absolutely zero experience to offer?

No let's not an impeach him for that, but let's impeach another president for saying that we should investigate that.

That is literally what you guys impeached Trump for. At this point Republicans can impeach him just because they feel like it or there's too much hair in their hair brush.

You can. You can say that Biden incited an insurrection to pressure Kamala to make him a dictator. I'm sure the Biden campaign would be THRILLED to include the soundbite in their 15 second ad that shows what huge NONSENSE Republicans can come up with.

We're STILL thrilled about having impeached the mother f**ker. Twice, no less! Next step is to also criminally convict the mother f**ker. And we'll be thrilled when that happens too. EVERY time that happens.

Sure! All you need is the "You want Javelin Missiles" for "I would like you to do us a favor though.." quid-pro-quo tape. Otherwise, you're not going to fit it into your 15 second ad.

Yeah! But then they'd have to end it with "And THAT'S why we shut down the economy".

Democrats got a free-play with the debt ceiling, if they want to use it. They could add whatever pork they want, and Republicans would get ALL of the blame if they shut down the government. MAGAs trust that they are too honest to take advantage. And honestly, at this point, I hope they DO use the "free play" they are getting.

I see that we are in total agreement.
Maybe we could just start running ticker up on the screen for how many dollars we've currently given Ukraine? It's well over 100 billion.

Perhaps we can call it "Joe's war"?

Because it certainly isn't ours even though we're paying for it

Are you being honest since you have been in full defense of the charges for almost two years now. Did you not listen to McCarthy yesterday he was quite clear as to why it was time to start the inquiry.

Yea our worst foreign adversaries funneling tens of millions into the private bank accounts of the Biden family for no apparent legitimate business purpose is no big deal.

Impeachment, like all other things in the world, is defined by Democrats and their liberal progressive constituents. It is a process that is entirely legitimate under any and all circumstances when they do it and it's a matter of treason when anyone applies the same process against them. The reason behind this is that Democrats are perfected human beings, far superior in every way to the grovelling, sniveling worms that pretend to be human on the other side of the political aisle.

    Don't need 15 seconds.

Perhaps the reason the forum's Republicans do not talk about what their party is doing is because what their party is doing is downright strange.

ABC reports, "Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced Tuesday he was ordering House Republicans to move ahead with an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

"Today, I am directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden," McCarthy said at the U.S. Capitol in a short formal statement. He did not take questions from reporters.

"McCarthy previously indicated there would be a full House vote for an impeachment inquiry, as has happened in the past, but as of Tuesday he didn't appear to have the votes to open one. A spokesperson for McCarthy tells ABC News that McCarthy is not expected to hold a vote to launch the impeachment inquiry.

"This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather the full facts and answers for the American public," he said on Tuesday. "That's exactly what we want to know -- the answers."

The answers to what? McCarthy didn't say.

“These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption. They warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives. That’s why today I am directing our House (committees) to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” McCarthy.

What are the allegations? What did our President do wrong? No one knows, not McCarthy, and not the far-right Republicans in the House. All we get are baseless accusations.

"House Republicans have been investigating for months alleged ties implicating Biden in his son's business dealings, but have so far have not been able to prove any wrongdoing by the president," ABC.

The ludicrous nature of this impeachment inquiry suggests that Trump had a hand in this to take the heat off his 91 charges and four criminal indictments.

Once again Republicans are digging themselves a hole. By their own admission, they don't know what the President did wrong. So, they launch an inquiry to find out if he did anything wrong. That is backwards. The wrongdoing is suppose to come first. Followed by investigations of the wrongful act.

No one would blame them if the forum's Republicans refuse to defend their party on these issues.

Nothing worth saying can be said in 15 seconds, especially in politics. The short attention span of voters combined with oversimplication by politicians is pretty high on the list of problems with modern civilization.
