Starbucks choses not to have Christmassy décor or music not to be politically correct, but to appeal to the 30% of Americans who are not Christian. No smart business would intentionally limit their customer base.
You may want to rethink your post. It is the person calling someone out for non-PC speech that has bad manners.

I think it goes to respect and considerateness. What I find ironic is how condemning a person can be to use of the wrong word, and in the next moment condone truly abhorrent behavior and illegal or criminal behavior. Actions speak louder than words, I say.
Nonsense, Trump was deemed a racist because he said that Mexican immigrants were rapists and criminals.
Actually use of the term "retard" in reference to someone who is in fact retarded is (or was 25 years ago)a "correct" term. That from a cousin who at the time was pursuing a masters in special education.
` I'm forgiving of a language faux pas, especially in an informal environment. In that environment, the word "retard" was used as a metaphor. The word "retarded" was acceptable at one time but the word "retard" has always had a slang derogatory meaning to it. Some people can't tell the difference.
I was a bit surprised when she told me "according to whatever class she was in" that it was a proper term. I wonder if that " slang derogatory meaning" evolved over time as it became a common school yard insult.
