…Three years ago, Street moved back to Shasta County to help care for his aging parents. His return coincided with the COVID pandemic and local political upheaval. But Street says he hasn’t taken part in those political debates and he intends to keep it that way.

“I didn’t shoot John and I don’t know his wife Jane,” Street said, using a metaphor to explain that he’s had nothing to do with local controversies. “I wasn’t even registered to vote here, so I didn’t take sides and wasn’t part of the issues . . .”

Asked what term he’d use to describe himself politically, Street declined to choose one.

“I’m not a good person to label,” he said. “I’m pretty focused on my issue. My issue is that I think the world can run much more efficiently and much more effectively.”

“I plan to be the guy that runs the machinery of government,” Street continued, “and we’re going to have a policy not to be political.”

Not being political would be a significant change for Street, who’s currently Vice President of a political movement known as New California, that hopes to see California separate into two states in the future.

If appointed as Shasta County’s CEO, Street plans to leave his New California position. But it’s clear that he hopes to lead Shasta County towards a future that he anticipates will include both what he describes as an “Old California” and a “New California.”

He sees recent bank failures as an indication that California’s economy, long built on the tech industry and Silicon Valley, is crashing.

And he calls March 10, 2023 (the date that the Silicon Valley Bank was taken over by federal regulators) Shasta County’s “launch code,” the end of an economic cycle “dominated by the forty miles along California’s coast.”

The North State can capitalize on those economic shifts in power, he says, to become the “Future Queen of the North” — the hub of a manufacturing, industrial, and agricultural renaissance in the New California.

By leaning into its rural strengths and building new dams for “sustainable” power infrastructure, he believes Shasta County can become a leader not only in California, but in the nation…

It’s as I thought. Much ado about nothing. This man is clearly qualified for the job and has the proper education and experience to do it. He’s back home from where he was raised to take care of his aging parents. He’s not going to be wearing two hats here. With the Shasta county CEO job, he will leave the New California VP job. His optimism about our area in the future is well founded.

His optimism about our area in the future is well founded. He sees the vast economic potential for this region. His ideas of putting doing the job and putting it and our future above politics is sound as well. He’s the right person for the job.

Should be at least 3 states. Cut off socal, and far north. We will keep sac with the bay, we’ll be nice and keep stockton and the Central Valley down to around Fresno.

Why? Based on what? He’s college educated, an economist, a college lecturer, and has government experience. I think that he’s a great choice.

Using those qualifiers, Elizabeth Warren would be even more qualified.

Were you not interested in the county governmental politics of an obscure California county?

In all fairness to California north of Sac, the State of Jefferson, Alto California, New California movements are very vociferous, but fairly impotent and unpopular. They make a lot of noise, but have accomplished utterly nothing.

Why would a long time US Senator want a county CEO position instead?

We have Heavenly Donuts open 24 hours in the core of our revitalized downtown.
But seriously the left is bitter than a red county is becoming more red in a deep blue state.

It is current, it is news, it is politics. The Jefferson and greater Idaho efforts are very popular in the region attempting it. Here it is California that is unpopular, seen as an oppressive occupier. For the record, he will leave the VP of New California job upon becoming our CEO. We are not an obscure county. Left media all over the nation and world have been writing about us since we defied our governor on Covid emergency powers and the Let us worship musical artist from here went nationwide.

Funny how Ultra MAGA and Putin want the same thing - to split up the US and get us fighting each other.

Jefferson and Greater Idaho are attempts to change borders of states within the United States not to break up the United States. Democrats from 2015 to 2021 didn’t mind fighting other Americans to the benefit of Xi and Vlad

It's an attempt to fractionalize the US into little islands of Blue and Red. The sickness of political parties. It only benefits those who want to destroy our country.
