Submarines :
Germany doesn't use nuclear submarines because that is to loud ! Every radar can hear/see that. So we use electric engineering. A german submarine followed a US submarine and the US army didn't noticed that until we phoned them xDD Ohh they were very angry ...

Rifle :
Why do america use the HK416 ? Right, because this weapon is better

The M4 is a great rifle; it is very accurate and well made, but the reliability of its direct gas impingement design is questionable. Fire a few hundred rounds through one and every nook and cranny in the action is covered in nastiness. Constant cleaning and maintenance is a must as a little dirt can cause the whole weapon to malfunction in the time of need.

The G36 on the other hand is based on a gas piston design like the AK. This allows it to not only fire when it is dirty, but it also keeps gases, and the associated nastiness, out of the action. Combine that with the top notch quality of any H&K product and you have yourself a winner.

The Apache vs. Tiger. The Tiger can fly longer distance, has a more modern system. Is not so fat and is more agile. The Tiger isn't use by much countries because he is very young. Even the germans don't use the Tiger because we always improve him. ( Some people say that the Tiger is defect but that is not true, i made a placement by Eurocopter and they told me the truth. U can also see some Tiger at the Bundeswehr Base in Donauwörth.

The ONLY advantage of Diesel is the fact that they are cheaper and easier to make. Thats it. No nation uses diesel if it has a choice.

And in any event, the US already has Diesel subs anyway. This technology was discarded in favor of nuclear propulsion.

I cannot think of a time in my near decade-long career that I have been in danger of being shot down by AA weaponry. Sure, there is a danger for it, but the chances of it happening are slim to none. The F-35 is not our only aircraft to perform CAS. In fact, I believe it will be used in the event we cannot scramble an F-15E, A-10, or F-16 in time.

You still need to get spike with the "fire-and-forget" missiles. They are either guided by a signal (think like SONAR) or illumination of the aircraft. You can launch it to the general location, but you still need to know where that is and your missile still needs to be able to bounce a signal off of it.

I am talking about aircraft and our Afghanistan campaign vs yours.

Microsoft Windows is widespread because of market power. Microsoft has deals with hardware producers and merchants. It's not about quality, it's about marketing.

There are many operating systems out there and a lot of them do virtually the same thing like Microsoft Windows without needing so much resources.

There are German operating systems and Russian operating systems, it's just, they don't do the marketing stuff, because it would be too expensive and risky. Sometimes they simply prefer specialized markets for operating systems, like Siemens does in automation.

The same goes for American companies like IBM or Hewlett Packard. They could have their own operating systems, but it makes no sense for them, economically.

 

Don't forget, Germany isn't only BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes

it is also :
MAN, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Bentley, Seat, Scania, ...

 

Doesn't Germany still make Ford cars.......i know they used to?

So why are Germans not installing those instead and using them in place of Windows?

Why is it risky if they are obviously so much better? Are you saying Germans would not be able to tell how obviously better they are?

The reason it makes no sense for them is because they know full well they cannot provide a better product than Microsoft.

New products can and do enter the market all the time and succeed if they are better. Android is spanking iOS in marketshare right now...even though iOS had TONS of marketing and a huge head start.

No, I say, they use the operating system with the best support. The support of Microsoft Windows has to do with the marketing power of Microsoft.

Different reasons, Microsoft Windows is usually pre-installed on computers, people know Microsoft Windows best, sharing files or applications with others cause less problems, a lot of hardware is Microsoft compatible.

I have five systems running on my box, admittedly four of them are American, mainly.

There are market risks. There were a good operating systems which did not get the market share they needed before, GeoWorks, OS/2, Chorus, Taligent, Spring, just to name a few.

Define "better". Dresden has Genode, Prague has HelenOS, Russia has the Assembler based operating systems, it's not about technology, it's about investments and marketing.

Having the better technology helps winning market share, but it's a bit naive to think, technology alone decides about market success.

 

And people don't know: BMW bought Rolls Royce long ago...

But of course, USA is technologically advanced
