Yep, another bait and switch! Potential E-Verify Deal Would Give Legal Status to Farmworkers Congressional Democrats hope to broker a deal with Republicans that would grant legal status to farmworkers currently in the country illegally but would require employers to verify the immigration status of all future hires. This all sounds familiar. Amnesty now, and enforcement later, this time we pinky swear! Hopefully Republicans will vote against this amnesty bill, but it's a crapshoot since so many support amnesty.
I hope the answer is no... Lawmakers see a bipartisan immigration fix for farm workers. Does the White House? Lawmakers led by California Democrat Zoe Lofgren and Florida Republican Mario Diaz-Balart — two veterans of immigration overhaul efforts — plan to introduce a bill this week that would provide a pathway to legal status for those farm workers, their spouses and minor children, congressional sources told McClatchy. Diaz-Balart, who confirmed his involvement, said three other GOP lawmakers have been involved in quiet negotiations over the past several months and that roughly 100 farm labor groups were supporting the effort and nearly 20 House Republicans had expressed interest in signing on as co-sponsors. One things for sure, the GOP Congressmen involved in this amnesty bill need to be outed.
FYI, the bill passed the House. Here's the list of guilty Republicans. Roll Call: The 34 House Republicans Who Voted for Farm Worker Amnesty
