Only if the arsenal were to fall 6,000 km. short of its prime target.

No, Russia is not insane enough to launch a suicidal nuclear strike in response to conventional attacks (proxy or not) that do not truly threaten the existence of Russia itself.

A cyber attack could disable USA nuclear system which would open a window for Russia to destroy USA.

I doubt it’s all on one system, or could be known whether it was for sure by an adversary, but even if it was, that’s why we have nuclear-armed subs.

If Russia used tactical nukes on Kiev, I do not think that would automatically lead to a nuclear holocaust, but it would justify escalation to use tactical nukes on Russian forces (ideally given to Ukraine rather than launched by nato, though), and risk further escalation. So it would be a risky move.

Any tactical nukes used to threaten Moscow would lead to global nuclear war. All that would come from tactical nukes on Kiev would be the Ukraine turned to rubble.

It's getting like wack-a-mole with these NATO goons but it's what will keep us from nuclear holocaust until Russia and China can figure out how to disable the systems of that nuclear happy nation across the pond.

My military knowledge isn't great but multiple sources I've looked at say Russia has more nukes than us. I'm sure there is a lot more involved like defense systems and what not and maybe that one fact alone doesn't mean much, but it is scary. At least to me it is.

If it came down to it, then it will be the Chinese who will disable American nuclear capabilities and Russia that lands the payload.

I'm old enough to remember the Cuban Missile crisis but for some reason I didn't expect the former USSR to start a nuclear war primarily because of what they endured during WW2.

One of my neighbors was a "White Russian" (vs Red Russian) and after the Reds killed her family and burned her home, she saw some of the worst that war has to offer.

It was precisely because I heard how Russia suffered, I felt that they knew better than most what mass carnage comes with war.

I hope that the newer generations remembered what the older ones endured.

    Thanks,

...that's what its designed to do....it's a concocted narrative designed to scare.....let me win or I'll nuke you. It's a farcical empty threat that's been used time after time.

    You're right.
It's a very effective ploy if you have the nukes to back it up.

For example, Israel's "Sampson Option" was used by the Israelis during the '73 War to blackmail more weapons out of the US.

The bad thing about bluffing is that you have to follow through sometimes and nukes are a one time only option.

    Thanks,
