Where ? Well right here in the Good 'ol U. S. of A. President Barack Obama is entitled to one day of Respect at least because that is what is due the office no matter the Occupier. Therefore I am not going to criticize Our President Today. Maybe just because I could use the practice. I will try and think of a few nice things about our President also. Others may or may not depending on their backbone. Feel free to at least give it a try.
President Obama really comes alive in March and the NCAA College Basketball Tourney. That is a great way for a Pres to demonstate Team spirit, one of the hallmarks of this Country.
I refuse to respect the current holder of the office of President for any period of time just because the state has taken it upon itself to declare a day of propaganda to respect the office of President
An another thing.I'm thankful that President Obama isn't in the habit of wearing a Hat.President Coolidge wore a variety of hats and was immortalized as always tippin his hat to people. Of course Abe Lincoln and his Long Top hat.J.F.K. also looked dapper wearing a top hat.Presidents like Teddy Roosevelt liked their hats { Safari for hunting expeditions } and many a Pres wore a hat for their Inauguration.Jimmy Carter put an end to the somewhat tradition of wearing a hat for Inauguration as J.F.K. and Nixon both did.J.F.K. wearing his Top hat all morning and putting it on a chair for his speech so no one would take his chair. Carter was so anti-hat that he Banned fancy dress for ALL Inaugurations in the future. President Obama is a good dresser ... hat or no.
I show the same amount of respect toward the president and he show towards the post he holds. And that ain't saying much.
Our President seems very at ease at the podium.Which is a big plus given that a President has to spend time at a Podium to explain things, give speeches and Address the nation { usually sitting at the Oval office }. However President Obama has a very keen knack for using a lectern or podium to great effect. This is a quality not easily dismissed no matter the subject matter.
I promise I won't badmouth Barry today either. I'll go buy a Barry Bobblehead for my dashboard and go sit in my truck. I won't be going anywhere though...can't afford the gas..I'll just sit and admire that bobblehead from my static position. I'm growing accustomed to sitting in a static position. It seems to be what Barry and the democrats want. Oops..sorry...I promised
So let me guess ... you're going to stamp your feet, hold your breath, poke your lip out and pout? When you're done doing all that ... guess who will still be President?
I saved the best for last. That being this President is a fantastic Campaigner. Most campaigns literally wipe out most candidates. The endless hours of travel and making campaign stops is really quite daunting. Many plain folk haven't a clue to that aspect of politics. In this vein Obama is a Superman. He may well be the Best Campaigner in the history of Politics.
It wasn't until the 1980's that this day was popularly referred to as President's Day. For the longest time it was known as Washington's Birthday and celebrated on Feb. 22nd. Now it is a day to honor the office of President.
