    Like this courage and conviction?

President Donald Trump said Thursday that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn "wasn't wrong" for taking the actions that led to his resignation and blamed the media for reporting on it. He repeatedly denied any connection to Russia and said he was not aware of any staff on his campaign who spoke to Russian officials before the election.

"What he did wasn't wrong, what he did in terms of the information he saw," Trump told reporters during a White House press conference, responding to a question on Flynn's resignation. "What was wrong was the way that other people, including yourselves in this room, were given that information."

Trump said that he was "not happy" with information leaked to the press by unnamed sources.

"That was classified information that was given illegally," Trump said. "That's the real problem. You can talk all you want about Russia, which is all a fake news, fabricated deal to try and make up for the loss of the Democrats, and the press plays right into it."

Trump said that he spoke to "a couple of the people that were supposedly involved" with Russian officials.

"They know nothing about it. They weren't in Russia, they never made a phone call to Russia, they never received a phone call," Trump said. "It's all fake news. All fake news."

May be the biggest clown, will have to research the point, but I'd say so far as lies go, #44 takes the cake.

Perhaps the next step is 2/3s of the media. Careful what you wish for.

And it is a fact that Trump has made some easily falsifiable claims. It is hypocritical for Trump to call out the media for doing what he does himself.

    That is debatable.

The commonality between scientists (now and in the past) is that they have kept their religious beliefs separate from their science. What we don't see is prominent scientists who are allowing their religion to interfere.

National security: The White House had to be notified that their man Flynn was a national security risk. AND, the White House did not act on that before it all came out publicly. That was a SERVICE to our national security, and something we need to know about.

Conway and Spicer have been lying their tails off. Is that something your religion sees as unimportant? Are you satisfied when you get lies from the executive branch?

As for the economy, the real concern during the campaign was Goldman Sachs and workers. So, Trump gave you Goldman Sachs!!! AND, his choice for Sec Labor is a guy with a past as a wife beater who is on record as hating workers. Are you writing the president to praise him for that???

Suggesting that reporting these elements of the Trump "presidency" is a sign of some sort of nefarious agenda is just plain ridiculous.

I suppose it depends on his intimate knowledge of what you consider his "lies" are. Likely, he doesn't know you from Adam. Asserting then that your personal analysis is some standard from which the rest of us can then choose to assign your credibility is also likely not to comfort you.

    I am not following you?

Flynn spoke to the Russian counterparts after Trump was elected, not before.
Trump said he did not tell him to but would have advised him to do so had he not.
Trump said what Flynn did was not wrong as best he could tell, but he let Flynn go because he was not forthcoming when he reiterated these talks to Pence.

The point of my post was this: no matter if Trump is rude and crude and even embellishes the truth at times, what is at stake is far, far of greater need that waiting for an angel or a saint to take the office. Trump has some great ideas to help restore this nation and secure this nation, and if the left does not care about the bigger picture then they are absolutely part of the huge problem and no part of any solution.

Very good press conference. While I supported sanders and then stein, I fully support this president, even more so given what is going on in our intel, who are trying to dictate foreign policy, therefore being treasonous. For there is an operation going on by our intel, to take him down, yet they just do not have the goods on him to do it in the way they would want. I predicted trump would win, as evidenced on this forum. For it was fairly obvious this was a change election, given sanders and trump. I also told everyone here several times there was a psy ops going on, against trump due to him being a threat to the corruption, to the intel services, who think they are in control. And perhaps have been even under Obama, operating rogue, on behalf of some other very rich and powerful people, which they have always done, as laid out in several books by insiders.

So right now this link here should be a huge news story if we had a genuine press, but MSM cannot touch what this democrat said a couple days ago for it would throw question on the Russian ruse that is still being used. So MSM cannot touch it, and are in blackout...imagine that!! Here listen to Kusinich.

and then remember I have been saying this ever since the ruse began...and once again, I am probably right. Credit it to an education in the 50s and 60s when they taught us HOW to think, not WHAT to think, and credit some very good profs at university. I am not any brighter than the average guy, but I understand reality whereas a tribal member is incapable of such things. There are examples of those folks here on this thread.. Here, this democrat is voicing what I voiced weeks ago. And the thing is, it is so obvious that it only requires average intelligence to smell the dead rat. But if you hate trump, apparently your nose has been cut off, losing all smell, and it was probably cut off because it had grown to a foot long from dishonesty, and you shut it up in your car door...ok, a bit of humor....

Let us see if MSM remains in blackout over what Kusinich just said. Or if they ignore it an continue the ruse.

With all due respect, your comment about the virtue of scientists not letting their religion interfere with their work is nonsensical. Besides, it was not my real point was it? It was that high intelligence is absolutely no indication of wisdom. And even worse, egoism destroys almost all virtue.

Flynn being a security risk for talking to his Russian counterpart was highly overblown. If you want to talk about the real "national security risks" it is the fact their are insiders in the administration leaking confidential information to the press. That is both a risk and criminal. But the media doesn't care to focus on that part of the story, do they? Says more about the media than it does about Flynn.

Conway and Spicer are far more honorable than anything speaking for Obama the past 8 years. They also have apologized in their mistakes which is quite rare as well. The lies that came out of Obama's reign were far more egregious. What kind of president goes before the U.N. and tells them it was a video that caused the attacks on Benghazi? - - - - and gets away with it because the media is all about protecting him!

NPR carried it to the moment that Trump insisted on hearing some positive questions and then abruptly cut the transmission off. Very frustrating and disgusting.
