Georgia Democrats are desperate to get their voters out in the Nov. 4 elections.

So they have decided to invoke the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown of Ferguson, Mo. The shooting brought outrage among black residents of Ferguson, and riots began.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other sources, the Democratic Party of Georgia sent out mailers telling voters: "If you want to prevent another Ferguson in their future, vote!"

The mailer's explanation inside on Ferguson runs very close to what Janet May, a Montgomery resident and the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee's Southern Caucus, said it should read like when she addressed the Democrats in Atlanta in August.

May noted that 13,000 of the 21,000 people in the St. Louis suburb are black, yet only one city councilman, of five, is black. And the mayor and police chief are white.

"Now if we can't take that scenario and roll it into a message for our party, we just need to pack it up and go home," May told a Democratic caucus meeting, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Because we have been grasping for a message."

The Journal-Constitution posted pictures of the mailer, which encouraged early voting.

The mailer brought some criticism on Twitter, and it also brought people out to note the Democrats are in charge in Missouri.

Meanwhile the Black community in Ferguson and throughout St. Louis County have said they are fed up with Democrats and will be voting Republican.

This is truly despicable but I guess it is easier than saying, "vote for this white woman of privilege."

IMO, this is a very risky move by GA Democrats. There is little sympathy for the Ferguson rioters down here in any quadrants I'm aware of, and the Ferguson debacle is associated with Democrat policies here more than anything. IMO that was a bad campaign move, but will be interesting to see.

That's pretty awful. Though not really surprising.
