I'm actually astounded that he was fired. Considering the left wing lunacy that goes on in colleges, I would think they'd protect him for life. One for being a champion of their left wing lunacy that they believe whether there is any evidence or not. Two, for being embarrassed that he got away with making up his bullshit for so long.

The article also says that he was vice president at the American Society of Criminology, and was in line to be the president. He received $3.5 million in grants, including taxpayer money.

He was "outed" by a white graduate student, whose reputation he tried to ruin.

My only question is: Who will win the bidding war for him, CNN or MSNBC?

This reminds me of a story that goes in the opposite direction. A while back a professor from either Harvard or Yale did a study on how the Houston, TX police treat blacks and whites. His study concluded that cops treated blacks better than whites and it went against what the school wanted to see and they harassed the snot out of him until he quit. Oh, and the professor was black.

 

Your confusion reflects your misunderstanding of the left. You may believe the left is wrong, but the left as a whole really cares about facts and science, and trusts real experts. The right tends to get away from the facts and into conspiracies more.

It is great, and expected, that this guy was fired for this. Glad he got caught. Though I have never heard of his research and it sounds like it was pointless and stupid to begin with.

 

What too many will fail to realize is that this guy would've found the data if it was actually out there. That he had to fabricate it shows just how little systemic racism there actually is.

There was reason to be suspicious, given Trump's public statements about Russia helping him (Russia, if you're listening, I hope you can find [Clinton's e-mails]), and the Trump tower meeting with the Russian lawyer to get dirt on Clinton, and the way Russia did in fact try to help Trump win, and the way Trump was so much more friendly towards Russia than predecessors, and the dossier (which was concerning, but not substantiated to stand on its own). But it was investigated, no smoking gun was found, and the left dropped it. All seemed pretty reasonable to me.

Is it the "fact" that mutilating a 14yr old's breasts will help her with mental issues?
Is it the fact that a think paper face mask will protect you from a virus?

Is it the science that letting millions of illegals over the border is somehow going to improve our carbon footprint?

You are arguing from an apparently emotional standpoint. I understand the confusion, but if you read and understood the literature, you wouldn't be. Most on the left just trust the experts. Most on the right choose to trust conservative pundits over experts, and that's idiotic. With some effort, I could help you with #1-3. I have no idea where you're even coming from on the #4 illegals comment. I have not seen such an assertion before.

#1: Studies show that, for the diagnosis of gender dysphoria, it improves outcomes. Though 14 is a bit younger than the usual as far as I'm aware.

#2: Respiratory viruses travel in droplets and aerosols moreso than as "naked viruses." Droplets are bigger than the pores in masks. Any barrier will reduce the viral load a person is exposed to. Ceteris paribus, this will reduce the likelihood of transmission. Valid studies have shown a moderate benefit to masks in reducing covid transmission, at least for earlier variants. Invalid studies with methodological issues, or valid studies being misused, were highlighted by conservatives.

#3: The utility of a medical intervention is judged by harm vs benefit. For covid, the vaccine reduced transmission of and severity of covid, particularly for earlier variants. Just because it was never as effective as the smallpox vaccine, doesn't mean it wasn't helpful.

I'd like to point out that this story broke several months ago, and at that time we were told this guy's 'research' was used to prove wide spread systemic racism across the country by the people who need to race hustle.

 

Russia tried to help both Hillary and Clinton to foment anger and hate. And Obama was always very friendly with Russia, even had an open mic. Hillary actually took fake dirt from Russia.
