PSA: mashed sweet potatoes

Are amazing.

Just like mashed potatoes, but with sweet potatoes. Peels on, butter and whole milk. NOTHING ELSE.

Sweet potatoes are not the same as yams. Next I shall try yams. But this is about sweet potatoes.

 

I can't deal with sweet potato for some reason. The texture.

 

The stuff I just made was texturally indistinguishable from regular mashed potatoes.

...perhaps you're referring to sweet potato pie, or sweet potato casserole ...in which case, I totally understand.

 

They make instant sweet potatoes now just like instant potatoes. I've seen it but never tried it. Not a huge yams fan.

 

Add a little maple syrup and a tiny bit of curry powder - deeeelish!
