it is common knowledge FIFA is corrupt as can get so corrupt they allowed Qatar to win the bid over the USA to host the 2022 tournament not only were the dates changed to accommodate the weather, Qatar had to build 5 stadiums in 12 years to host the games...thankfully in 2026 the games are in the western hemisphere with that said..I had to give alotta thought about attending this year despite the USA failed to qualify in 2018, I had so much fun going to the games in Russia, I pulled the trigger and booked flights and a room for this year ..I will only stay for the group stages I have my Hayya card and a ticket to the USA-Wales game...a Brazil game and a canada game were also available so I bought them...I will have to buy a ticket to USA-England later most likely from a scalper ,, the USA should be competitive with players like Pulisic and this new sensation Aaronson..and matt Turner is decent enough on the goal..hopefully., Pepe returns to the roster..there are also a few other players on the roster that are good and play in Europe is anybody else going?? if yes, maybe I will see you there
I hope you have a good time despite the venue. Qatar seems determined to suck every bit of fun out of the tournament and the decision to ban sales of alcohol in the stadiums just two days before the opening match is going to prove as unpopular with the fans as it is with one of the major sponsors Budweiser. Then there were the officials who tried to shut down the Danish broadcasters and threatened to smash their camera. If the goal of Qatar in holding the World Cup is to promote themselves as a friendly holiday location they are not doing very well so far.
They are an awful, awful country that should never have received the gift of staging a World Cup. There are reports of six thousand deaths of immigrant workers who built the infrastructure and the stadiums although Qatar acknowledges only 3. Big difference between 3 and 6,000 - the truth must be somewhere in-between. Women's rights, minority rights, LGBT rights, Qatar has a terrible record in all of the above. I have decided not to go. I will watch from home. But @gringo enjoy, and Go USA!
