This is really a two-part question.

    1) Have you ever met anyone that you thought should not have access to firearms?

    2) If there are people that should not have access to firearms, what measures would you advocate to restrict their access?

    Thanks!

Okay. So just people that work for the government, then? Everybody else should be allowed access to weapons? :)

By the way, not to make light of a tragedy, but what's the deal with all the kids' names on that list? Chanel? Startle? Hollywood? Serenity? Chica? Little One?

The Branch Davidians were naming their children after perfumes?

There are plenty of people I've met that I dont think should have them but you cant deny them till they screw up.

That being said I would ramp up the penalties for not being responsible. You dont lock up your weapon and someone takes it you get 5 years in prison, if its used in a crime you get 10. Any violent crimes in your past you lose your right to a gun.

You get caught with an illegal weapon you get 25 yrs. in prison.

No more buying guns outside of a federally regulated business. You want to sell one you have to go through somethung similar to the dmv so it can be tracked.

You use a gun in a crime its life in prison.

Other than that, all non-explosive guns should be legal.

Should have locked it up better. I have a safe that would need a machinist to get into.

LOL, are you going to create and entitlement program for the poor so they can afford "better" safes so they can defend themselves? How about just locking their doors, it is already a crime to break into a house.

If you want a gun you better make sure you can keep it safe...believe me, after the prison terms start getting passed out people will not want to risk it.

Well if you have a foolproof way to tell who is going to shoot up a school then please share it with us.

Yes, make citizens the criminals for others criminal activity. Brilliant. Why not lock up the fathers and mothers of criminals since they produced them?

If you have a gun locked up then call the police, show them where the gun was, the busted safe, and give them the registration, your off the hook.

Guilty till proven innocent? We already have far to many non violent offenders in our prison system what would a few more hurt.

There is none. Banning the guns is the only viable solution.

How is that a sign of guilt?

Its the same as when your car is stolen. But if your gun shows up in a crime you have some responsibility for it. If you dont notice that someone has broken into your safe and stolen your gun then you are too ignorant to own one.

That's the trouble, there isn't one. So how about if you tell us your foolproof way to keep guns out of the hands of another Adam Lanza?

I agree on the first part. On the second it is not viable or possible. The odds of that are about the same as conservatives banning abortion. Not going to happen.

So your response to the parents of 20 dead children is: Oh well.

You said show the police how your guns were stolen as opposed to the police proving you failed to properly secure them.

Your never going to stop all mass murders, you can only try to limit them.

Agreed. What's your proposal to limit mass shootings? We already know that relying on gun owners to keep their weapons out of the wrong hands doesn't work.

I would not say oh well, it was tragic. You can not prevent that kind of person.
