It has become clear that an NTSB summer intern was responsible for the fake Korean names released to the local TV station and nobody doubted the authenticity of the information until it was actually aired. The intern claimed that he did not come up with those names but no media outlets had reported them before the broadcast and it's obvious that the TV station fell victim to the NTSB intern's nasty prank. But the intern is likely to get away with it because he's just a college student working a summer job. According to the NTSB, the summer intern is a student volunteer. He was supposed to have forwarded media inquiries to the correct office, but for some reason, decided to verify inaccurate information.
